Dr. Pate is a North Carolina native and has been living and serving the people of Wayne County and surrounding areas for over twenty years. Dr. Pate received his undergraduate and masters degrees from North Carolina State University. He then completed his medical doctorate degree at East Carolina University. Dr. Pate practiced emergency medicine for twelve years before opening Western Wayne Medical Center. Dr. Pate is American Board certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. He is also a certified menopause specialist. Dr. Pate is also the medical director for BioSymmetry, a clinic that focuses on medical treatment for men and women with hormone related issues and/or medical weight management. Dr. Pate’s vast medical back-ground has helped him assist his patient’s with improving their health to live a better quality of life.

Dr. Pate currently resides n Goldsboro with his wife and their four boys. Dr. Pate enjoys attending all the sporting events that his children are involved. He also enjoys coaching. When he is not at a sporting event, he enjoys fishing and playing tennis.

Dr. Pate enjoys volunteering as the team physician for Rosewood High School for over 18 years.

Mrs. Barnes is a native of Wayne County and has been serving the people of Goldsboro and surrounding communities for almost 13 years. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University School of Nursing in 2001. She worked full time as a registered nurse on an intermediate cardiac unit at Wayne Memorial Hospital for approximately 8 years. Mrs. Barnes then received her Masters of Science in Nursing and Adult Nurse Practitioner degree from East Carolina University in the summer of 2010 and so after received her certification and approval to practice from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the NC Board of Nursing in the fall of 2010. Since 2011 she has worked in primary care settings as a nurse practitioner caring for adult patients with varying acute and chronic health issues. Mrs. Barnes has a passion for cardiac health and educating patients so that they can actively participate in their disease management and health maintenance.

Mrs. Barnes currently resides in Goldsboro with her husband and two young children.

Ms. Bell is a native of Johnston County and spent much of her nursing career working there. She received a diploma in nursing from Watts Hospital School of Nursing in 1981. The majority of her 30 year nursing career was spent in emergency nursing and cardiology. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing and adult nurse practitioner degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the spring of 2011. Since receiving her board certification she has worked in the primary care setting. First in Clayton, NC with a board certified Internal Medicine physician who’s sub-specialty was gastroenterology. She cared for patients with acute and chronic illnesses as well as preventative medicine. Ms. Bell has a passion for treating patients with type II diabetes, heart disease, and dyslipidemia. She is a strong proponent of early and aggressive disease management to prevent future health problems.

Ms. Pate co-founded Western Wayne Medical with Dr. Pate in 1996. Ms. Pate is a registered Radiology Technologist through the American Academy of Radiology Technologist. She was born in Wayne County and has remained here most of her life. She acts as the practice manager for Western Wayne Medical and Biosymmetry.

Ms. Pate and her husband have four boys. They stay on the go to sporting events that their children are involved. She also enjoys spending time on the water and reading.

Office Supervisor

Ms. Limpscomb has been with Western Wayne Medical Center for fifteen years and enjoys the caring atmosphere of our staff. Ms. Lipscomb received her Associates in Business from Wayne Community College. She acts as the Office Supervisor at Western Wayne Medical Center.

Ms. Lipscomb and her husband reside in the Rosewood area. She enjoys spending time with her family and camping.

Ms. May is a native of Johnston County. She currently resides in Princeton with her Mom, Dad and twin sister. She received her Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting from Johnston Community College and became certified when she passed her state exam in June of 2014. She has workded as a CMA since she graduated. She has been with Western Wayne Medical Center for over a year now and enjoys the compassionate, caring and supportive atmoshere provided by the staff in this office. She is currently pursuing and online Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Public Health Education and is expected to graduate in August 2016.

In her free time, Ms. May loves to help those in need, spend time with her family or friends and teach the children at the church she attends. Her hobbies include painting, spending time at the beach, staying active and simply enjoying what life has to offer.

Ms. Shirley a certified Radiology technologist through the American Academy of Radiology Technologist. She obtained her radiology education from Johnston Community College. She works with her patients to help them reach their health goals.

Ms. Belden is originally from Toledo, Ohio and has been a resident of Wayne County for the past 30 years. She has been with Western Wayne Medical Center for the past eight years as the office receptionist.
