Hi, I believe this may be due to a Windows update, replacing the graphics drivers.  Anthony, although you mention you have tried the drivers, can you please fully remove and delete your existing Intel/Nvidia drivers.  Please then reboot and install the Intel and Nvidia drivers below.  Windows update may be replacing the Intel driver as it sees a new version, so please disable updates whilst testing.

What Snufykat said. If it's not in warranty, check the drivers for the HotKeys.

Well they were purchased with 8.1 pro on them. But we run an Enterprise Environment that caused us to install 8.1 Enterprise. The only thing that is not working is the Brightness Keys all other Keys work fine.

Do you have to hold an Fn Key down to get the brightness keys to work? have you checked for Fn Lock?

I apologize i probably should have put what I already tried. So I tried the drivers from Lenovo's site based off model number, didnt work. I went to Intel site, and Invidia site and pulled latest drivers from their site, and I installed all recommended updates from ThinkVantage System Update 5.

I am running Win7 ent. and I had to install nvidia drivers from nvidia along with the nvidia geforce experience "package" to get most of the video functions to work on my T540p. it also reduced the load on it as well not sure about 8.1 though we avoid that garbage like the plague here.

on a site note if you can return the T540p laptop and get something else I would, it the worst laptop I have ever used

(dual core i7, POS mousepad, Fn key to use F keys I miss my F5 refresh key)

on a high note it has nvidia GPU.

Joe (Lenovo) just so you know I called this into Lenovo Support and was told that Lenovo does not support Enterprise 8.1. I am an IT Manager for a large company and we just switched from Dell to Lenovo. That was my first call into Lenovo Support and to have that guy tell me that 8.1 Enterprise is not supported I was ready to return all 400 of these Laptops. Just wanted to share!

How to Fix Lenovo Laptop Screen Dim Issue

If you are a Lenovo laptop user, you may have encountered a very annoying issue that the screen of your laptop went very dim. It happens usually after you accidentally press a wrong key or you finish updating your operating system. The brightness of your screen becomes so low that it hurts your eyes to see things on the screen.

But even so, you don’t have to worry too much. Here are three methods that can help you make your screen light up again:

1) Update graphics driver

2) Press brightness-up button when starting up

3) Modify Registry

1) Update graphics driver

In many cases, the culprit of dim laptop screen issue is the faulty graphics drivers. You need to update the graphics driver to the latest and correct version. But if you don’t have time, patience or computer skills to deal with drivers (since it is very tricky and time-consuming), we recommend you using Driver Easy.

Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for it. You don’t need to know exactly what system your computer is running, you don’t need to risk downloading and installing the wrong driver, and you don’t need to worry about making a mistake when installing.

You can update your drivers automatically with either the FREE or the Pro version of Driver Easy. But with the Pro version it takes just 2 clicks (and you get full support and a 30-day money back guarantee):

a)Download and install Driver Easy.

b) Run Driver Easy and click Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.

c) Click the Update button next to your graphics driver to automatically download the correct version of this driver (you can do this with the FREE version). Or click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out of date on your system (this requires the Pro version – you’ll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All).

2) Press brightness-up key when starting up

This is another fast and easy yet effective option to fix your dim lenovo laptop screen.

a) Completely shut down your Lenovo laptop.

b) Press the power button to start up your laptop. In the meantime, press and hold the brightness-up key on the keyboard, which is usually a function key (F1-F12).

c) After the start-up, you can see the screen of your Lenovo laptop has been brightened up.

3) Modify Registry

You can also change a Registry value to fix your dim screen issue. But please note that Registry editing is very risky in that any misoperation can bring about unexpected consequences. You should always be very careful about modifying registry. Besides, it is also strongly recommended that you back up your Registry before you go ahead to the steps below.

Please also note that you need to update your graphics driver before you perform this method.

a) Press Win and R keys on your keyboard at the same time to open Run dialog. Then type “regedit” and hit Enter. This will open Registry Editor.

b) On Registry Editor, use the registry hive on the left hand side to navigate to the location “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000” OR “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0001“.

c) Find FeatureTestControl and double click on it.

d) Change the value data to “f048” and then hit OK.

e) After that, close the Registry Editor. Reboot your laptop and see if the problem resolves.

If none of the methods above get your Lenovo laptop screen back to normal, you may need to consider the dim screen problem as a hardware issue. You can contact Lenovo official support and see if they can offer any further assistance.

How to Fix It When Brightness Is Not Changing on Windows 10

Here's how to fix things when Windows 10 screen brightness is not changing and what to do next.

Why Can't I Change Brightness on Windows 10?

When you're unable to change the brightness on your Windows 10 desktop PC or laptop, the problem can be down to a number of different issues. These can be either software or hardware-based so it's important to know where the problem actually lies.

Many of the issues can be fixed at home, but there are certain cases where if the hardware is at fault, you may need to arrange for the system to be professionally repaired or for replacement components to be purchased.

Before reaching that stage, it's worth narrowing down where the issue lies:

  • PC won't respond to brightness adjustment. If you're following the commands to adjust brightness correctly, you may be dealing with either a software or hardware issue stopping the change from taking effect.
  • PC recently won't change brightness. If your PC used to adjust the brightness correctly but won't any more, it may be down to a software upgrade issue.
  • Brightness no longer auto-adjusts. If the brightness on your device used to automatically adjust but doesn't any more, it's important to check if it's still possible to manually adjust the brightness.

Why Is the Brightness Not Changing on My Laptop?

If the brightness isn't working on your laptop, this can be for a number of different reasons. Here's a look at some of the reasons why this might be the case.

  • Your display has a problem. If your laptop has suffered a few knocks or is simply aging, the display may have a problem with switching brightness.
  • Your software is out of date. If Windows 10 or your graphics drivers haven't been updated in a while, this may cause a problem with adjusting brightness.
  • Keyboard issues. If you're using keyboard commands to adjust the brightness on your laptop and it's not working, it may be an issue with the keyboard rather than your display.

What to Do if Brightness Is Not Working in Windows 10

If you can't change the brightness on your Windows 10 machine, there are a number of different ways to troubleshoot and fix the issue. Here's a look at the key methods in order of difficulty.

  1. Check you're using the correct command. On a laptop, it's often possible to change brightness levels by holding the Fn button along with a function key. Check you're using the correct keys to do so.

  2. Change the brightness via the Action Center. Use Windows 10's Action Center to toggle brightness rather than keyboard commands. It can sometimes fix the issue.

  3. Check Power Options. Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options and check that your power options aren't affecting the brightness on your screen. While there, check that the brightness isn't automatically adjusted by your PC or laptop.

  4. Update your display drivers. Update your display drivers. This usually takes about 10-15 minutes and often fixes common problems. It also often makes your system run more responsively.

  5. Update Windows. Check for Windows updates and make sure your operating system is fully up-to-date.

  6. Use a different monitor. Try using a different external monitor or screen to see if the problem is solely an issue with your existing screen.

  7. Switch graphics cards. Either try installing a separate graphics cards or switch from your dedicated graphics card to your integrated graphics card to see if the issue lies with one of the GPUs. This option is usually found alongside the screen resolution settings.

  8. Contact your PC/laptop manufacturer. If the problem persists and you can't fix it, contact the manufacturer of your device to see if they can help or to send it off for repair.

How Can I Adjust Brightness in Windows 10?

Changing the brightness on Windows 10 is a fairly simple process, but you have multiple ways of doing so. Here's a quick overview of the methods.

  • Keyboard commands. On a laptop, you can often change the brightness via keyboard commands. Hold down the Fn key then look for any icons next to letters that could represent brightness.
  • Via the Action Center. Change brightness via Windows 10's Action Center and sliding the brightness slider left or right.
  • Automatically. If you'd prefer your computer to adjust brightness automatically, go to Control Panel > Display and change the settings to automatic here to leave your computer to decide what's best based around the time of day you're using it.

FAQ

  • You might need to update the display driver from the Lenovo support site. Once you locate your product, select Drivers & Software > Windows 10 Display and Video Graphics. If the problem occurred after a recent display driver update, you might want to roll back a driver from Control Center > Device Manager > Properties > Roll Back Driver.

  • Check to see if you have adaptive or automatic brightness enabled from Power Options. On some devices running Windows 10, you can turn off auto brightness from Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings > Display > Enable adaptive brightness.

Yoga changing not lenovo brightness

Grabbing his cock, I directed it into my wet hairy slit, swiping it up and down a couple of times. I was shaking with excitement and the realization of what I was doing. The bull jerked forward, and the member entered me, the moan that escaped from my mouth was the beginning, I moved my ass towards him and thrust.

Myself onto this member, so dear and beloved. He entered with little difficulty, but I really liked it, I started waving my ass towards him, and the bull began to.
