The LG G Watch R has found yet another home, this time at T-Mobile US.

As the first Android Wear device to feature a fully circular plastic OLED display (the Motorola Moto 360 has an LCD screen), the G Watch R comes with a slightly higher price. At $300, it's $50 more than its main round competitor, the Moto 360.

The LG G Watch R is a water- and dust-resistant device that pairs with any Android smartphone that uses version 4.3 software or above. Slightly more stylish than other Android Wear models, it features a steel and aluminum housing and removable straps that you can replace with any 22mm bands.

Internally, we find 4GB of storage, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU and 512MB RAM. In addition to the standard suite of sensors, the G Watch includes a heart rate monitor and a barometer.

T-Mobile will sell the LG G Watch R in stores starting November 19. It arrives online later in the month.

What’s the best T-Mobile Watch for Kids?

T-Mobile - Timex FamilyConnect Smartwatch for Kids

What are the best T-Mobile smartwatches for kids? If you're looking to purchase a smart device for your child, it only stands to reason that you'd want one supported by the same carrier as your own device.

And for T-Mobile users, we've got just the thing. Below, we'll discuss the best T-Mobile kid plans offered in detail and help you discover the best T-Mobile kid smartwatch for your child.

Now, you'll probably want a GPS tracker watch for your little one, to make sure they're safe and sound even when they're away from you. This is why, in this article, we'll focus mainly on that aspect.

TIMEX FamilyConnect Yes Yes Yes 4G/LTE IP67 Decent Yes Yes
Apple Watch Series 3&5 No No Yes 4G/LTE Yes Good Yes No
Samsung Galaxy Watch No Yes Yes 4G/LTE IP68 Good Yes No
TickTalk 3.0 Yes Yes Yes 4G/LTE IP67 Fair No Yes

We've included the Apple Watch 3 and 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch (there is also an Active 2 variant). Although these aren't strictly for children, they are supported by T-Mobile, so they might be a good idea for an older child or teen.

Timex FamilyConnect Smartwatch for Kids

Timex FamilyConnect Kid Smartwatch for T-Mobile

The Timex FamilyConnect is the official T-Mobile kids GPS watch, recommended by the carrier. FamilyConnect is a highly secure option.

The best part about Timex kid's watch is that it allows you, the parent, to set a special (closed) family network. That way, you can program who can and can't have access to your child's phone, so there's no risk of being approached by strangers.

It also allows you to track their location through GPS, letting you refresh as often as necessary. This T-Mobile kid's phone watch also enables you to connect with your child through two-way calling. That way, you can check in any time you feel the need to.

With an IP67 rating, the watch has good water resistance, meaning it won't get damaged if your child splashes it accidentally (though it won't hold when swimming!).

Another notable aspect is that it lets you set up a safe area for your child, and when they leave that area, it activates an alarm.

Alternatively, the TIMEX FamilyConnect offers the option of SOS Alert, sending it out when your kid presses a special button.

And you can even program specific tasks for them and let them play the pre-installed games.

The overall price of $168 is very advantageous, too.

You also have the option of paying a monthly rate of just $7 for 24 months.

You will also have to pay a one-time activation fee of $20, and if you already have 2 registered plans with T-Mobile, you can add the FamilyConnect for free.

Other T-Mobile Options

As mentioned earlier, T-Mobile also offers a bunch of "adult" phones – the Apple Watch Series 3 and 5, as well as two Samsung Galaxy Watch models. These are all innovative, advanced watches, though not technically for kids.

They won't let you track them or limit their contacts, but they do make for a great gift for more independent teenagers.

Smartwatches that Support T-Mobile

Here, we have a couple of smartwatches that support T-Mobile, but whose recommended carrier is different.

TickTalk 3.0 - 4G/LTE Kids Smart Watch Phone

TickTalk 3 - GPS Watch for Kids

Tick Talk 3 is one of the most well-known smartwatches for kids on the market today. It's easy to use, even by small children, and has all the tracking and safety features a parent could ask for.

It also has excellent Customer Service, being one of the few brands actually based in the US.

Like the FamilyConnect, it has a rating of IP67, 2-way calling (as well as video calling), an SOS alert function, and programmable reminders.

The one downside of TickTalk 3 seems to be the poor-ish battery, but then, customers weren't crazy about FamilyConnect's battery, either.

The great thing about TickTalk 3 is that they allow you to bring your carrier, and are compatible, of course, with T-Mobile. If you have a family plan, you can just add another line. The manufacturer recommends getting either the "One Plan" or the "Magenta" to incorporate the TickTalk 3, which should cost you about $25-$35 a month.

Warning: T-Mobile may recommend a much cheaper, $10 wearable plan, but that is not compatible with the TickTalk 3.

Technically, they recommend you get a RedPocket plan for your smartwatch, but you can just as easily opt for T-Mobile.

As far as price goes, the TickTalk 3.0 costs $170, so the difference between it and the FamilyConnect is minute. It also doesn't come with pre-installed games, unfortunately, but other than that, both smartwatches are excellent and allow you to track your kid thoroughly.

TechComm G900 Kids GPS Smart Watch

We're also mentioning the TechComm, which was advertised as solely for T-Mobile and was sold at Walmart and Overstock (though it's currently out of stock at both).

I include this because there's a good chance you'll run into it when looking online, but given that many customers complained about not being able to connect it to T-Mobile, we wouldn't recommend it.

Non-T-Mobile Alternatives

Then there are, of course, the smartwatches that are for children, though do not work with T-Mobile. If you're bent on getting your child a smart device, but can't find a T-Mobile one you like, these might be worth looking.

Verizon GizmoWatch

We've already talked extensively about this watch when discussing the kids' smartwatches compatible with Verizon. But let's see how it compares with the FamilyConnect.

Like the FamilyConnect, the Verizon Gizmo watch phone allows you to track your child through GPS and call them through 2 way calling. It also comes with a step counter, so your child can keep fit and the ability to program reminders, both features we also find in the FamilyConnect.

The Gizmo is just a tad more expensive ($180), but considering that the Verizon basic plan is cheaper, you might get a more affordable deal.

Overall, the watches are quite similar. They both have a kid-friendly design and have been reported to be easy to use and fun for kids. Oddly enough, this one also seems to have a poor battery.

Sprint WatchMeGo

Sprint - WatchMeGo Kids Smart Watch

We also have an in-depth article about Sprint child tracking watch, but let's talk about how it compares to the FamilyConnect. Like the FamilyConnect, the WatchMeGo allows you to program a "safe zone", track your kid through GPS, and also sends out an SOS alert at the press of a button.

You can communicate with them through voice and text messages, though it does not support calls, so that's a minus.

It also has an IP67 rating, and comes with pre-installed games to keep your child entertained. All in all, it's a good basic option for kids who aren't ready for the responsibility of a phone.

A Word of Warning…

In your search for the perfect device, you may come across other devices that claim to be T-Mobile compatible. Always read the specifications and details, to make sure you are not being lied to. If you can't find a definitive answer, call or message your local T-Mobile provider, and ask.

Q&A – T-Mobile Smartwatches

  • Is the GizmoWatch compatible with T-Mobile?

No, the GizmoWatch by Verizon is not compatible with T-Mobile.

  • Does T-Mobile support the VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX2?

No, the VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX2 is not supported by T-Mobile. The VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX2 does not require a SIM card, and as such, it doesn't need a carrier.

Tip: A smartwatch that does not use a SIM card doesn't need support from a carrier, so in case you see the VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX2 advertised as a T-mobile smartwatch, know it's not true.

  • Does T-Mobile support the LG GizmoPal2?

No, it is not. The LG GizmoPal 2 was originally by Verizon, and ran on 2G. Since most carriers, including Verizon, are ditching 2G networks, they are naturally also ditching such watches.

  • Does T-Mobile support myFirstFone2?

No, it does not support myFirstFone2. T-Mobile runs through Band4, which requires 1700 and 2100 bands, whereas the myFirstFone2 device only has the latter.

Our Picks

So, what's the verdict? Which is the best T-Mobile device for your child? Well, we've made two picks:

  • The Timex FamilyConnect because it lets you track and connect with your child, and is fun for kids;
  • The Tick Talk 3, as it has basically the same features, and has some pretty great reviews out there.

Naturally, which one you choose depends on your own personal requirements, but they're both great watches, and they both support T-Mobile.

She wanted to pull out the dildo, and, shaking in convulsions, enjoy it to the fullest, feeling how her entire female being calms down, but obeying the lust that gripped. Her, she made a few more short and quick movements.
