the sale will be scheduled in late September. We do not notify the public by mail of the sale, nor do we accept
bids through the mail or over the phone. All purchasers must be present or represented by a third party. The
bidding process starts at the delinquent tax amount and goes to the highest bidder. The bid amount plus current
year taxes must be paid in full directly following the conclusion of the sale. Property owners have approximately
18 months to redeem the property following the Tax Lien Sale.
Our office is open to the public from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Did you know?
Lying just to the west of the great Valley of Virginia, Hampshire County, West Virginia has a rich and varied history. Once home to numerous tribes of prehistoric native Americans, the area was nearly empty and used only for a seasonal hunting ground when the white man first arrived. The fertile valleys of Hampshire's Potomac River tributaries were a welcome sight to the early settlers who longed for verdant, open spaces to satisfy their independent spirit.
In 1754, the opening year of the French and Indian War, Hampshire County was established with over twenty-six hundred square miles. It was the western frontier of the Colony of Virginia. Because Virginia's route to the upper Ohio River valley came through Hampshire County, the area became an important gateway to the developing west.

At the thought of bodily pleasure, I was filled with anger. Edward gave up first. Tired of platonic passion, he could not overcome his feelings. Once, having found me asleep, he possessed me. I woke up in his arms and in self-forgetfulness merged my bliss with his delight.
