How to fold down rear seat?

I understand that there are 2 holes, one behind each seat, and that you're supposed to be able to stick a screwdriver in each and "push down" on a latch to get the seat to pop out.

I did this once, successfully, on the passenger side. I'm not even sure what I did, it worked so quickly. I could never get the driver's side to release. So I pushed back in the passenger side to see exactly how it popped open...and now I can't get either side to let go.

Can someone give me slightly more detailed directions on how to get the seat to fold down?
