The company is joining a slew of other grocery retailers investing in their online delivery options, including Kroger and Walmart (which purchased online retailer Jet.com in 2016). Amazon also offers two-day delivery on groceries, household items, and more to members of Amazon Prime, Prime Now, and Fresh. Plus, with Amazon's acquisition of Whole Foods, their fresh food delivery options may expand, too (although Whole Foods also delivers through Instacart already). When Amazon announced Whole Foods price cuts in August, they also hinted toward new delivery options on the horizon.
Costco, for one, is confident that their delivery services on bulk favorites can stack up. “We feel good that we’ve got a few delivery options for our members that frankly are better than the ones they [have] with anybody else,” said Costco's chief financial officer Richard Galanti on a call with investors last week, according to the Washington Post. They also announced that sales for the most recent quarter had grown 16 percent to $41.4 billion, according to the Post.
Shareholders aren't so sure, though. Costco's shares dropped 6 percent on Friday, October 6 (the day after the call), according to the Post, and there are big questions about whether Costco will be able to keep up with Amazon and Whole Foods in an increasingly competitive grocery landscape. Plus, Costco relies on foot traffic in stores. If you've ever shopped at Costco, you know that impulse buys are hard to resist—as are the samples.
That said, Costco customers are a loyal and devoted group, and the store's cost-effective bulk offerings are unique compared to what you'd find at many other grocery stores. The delivery service isn't intended to replace brick-and-mortar stores, but rather, to give customers another way to get what they need without the hassle. (Dare we say, #CostcoProblems?) Even though the service is new, many of Costco's busiest shoppers are open to trying it.
Adriana Morrison, a Denver-based personal trainer, is already a fan of grocery delivery in general. "It saves a lot of time and you don't have to make a trip," she tells SELF. A Costco delivery service in particular could be even more game-changing, because she can typically only go to the warehouse on Saturdays and Sundays. The weekend warrior crowd means more time-consuming grocery hauls (especially when she has her four kids with her).
To get on board with Costco's delivery service, though, Morrison says it needs to pass a couple of tests: "quick turn-around times on delivery and selections matching what is available in the store (that is, all items, not just selected items that the store decides they would be willing to deliver)," she says. Instacart's delivery times and available products vary based on where you live, but if they stack up, Morrison says the convenience might be worth the extra cost.
Kindal Loy, a Seattle-based mom of four, is also intrigued by the service. "I'm a Costco, Trader Joe's, and Target gal–I [usually] take my four kids with me to hit all three stores in one morning, but lately I've stopped going to Costco because it's just too many stops," says Loy. (More stops also means more time loading and unloading kids, she adds.) While she hasn't used grocery delivery services before, the Costco option is tempting.

More and more retailers are jumping on the same-day grocery delivery bandwagon as consumers opt for the convenience of shopping from the comfort of home. And as soon as Costco grocery delivery to my home became available in my area, I knew I had to try it out. With no extra cost for grocery delivery for Costco members, the perks of not having to drive to the store, park, shop and return home was worth looking into to see if a better match for my grocery budget and schedule.

Quick Overview: How Does Costco Grocery Delivery Compare to Amazon and Walmart?
While Costco is a fan favorite for many shoppers, how does its grocery delivery service compare to the other giants, Walmart and Amazon Fresh? To find out, I placed orders from Costco, and Walmart and Amazon Fresh with the same items — or at least as close to the same as I could get. Here’s what I discovered.
Bulk packaging at Costco made items cheaper
With Costco’s bulk packaging, many similar products at Walmart and Amazon Fresh were more expensive. For example, I paid almost $4 more for carrots and $2 more for chicken pot pies because I had to buy multiple packages to get an amount comparable to what I purchased from Costco.
Walmart had cheaper meat prices
Surprisingly, my Walmart order was 46 cents cheaper. Ultimately, the price difference of cost for meat is what made the Walmart grocery order cheaper. Costco’s ground beef cost $3.59 per pound, versus Walmart priced ground beef at $2.48 per pound for the same 5-lb roll.
Walmart groceries are cheaper than Costco, but Walmart charges a grocery delivery fee
With Costco, prices of the items for delivery are slightly higher than in-store warehouse prices, but there is still no added delivery fee for home grocery delivery from Costco. There is also no charge for Amazon grocery delivery for those who sign up for grocery delivery with Amazon Fresh. However, while Walmart grocery prices are the same for in-store and delivery, and there is no fee to join, you will pay a delivery charge between $7.95 and $9.95 on each delivery depending on the day and time you want your items.
Amazon was more expensive overall
Amazon Fresh produce and dairy prices were decently priced, whereas meat prices were high and the selection was limited. Ultimately, my Amazon Fresh order cost $21.78 more than the Costco order, and that does not include the $14.99 per month charge to use Fresh or the $119 per year membership for Prime.

1. Costco Grocery Delivery
Costco currently offers two grocery delivery services, Same-Day and 2-Day.
Same-Day grocery is powered by Instacart and allows shoppers to order fresh groceries, including perishables. For Same-Day delivery, you must be present for the food to get dropped off. This service is available in most metropolitan areas — in other words, if you live near a Costco, you probably have access to it. *You must check out with the Same-day delivery cart separately from the Costco.com cart.

Costco’s 2-Day service allows members to purchase only non-perishable items from the warehouse, including household items and toiletries. Members don’t have to be present at delivery. This service is not available in Hawaii, Alaska or Puerto Rico.

Does Costco Grocery Charge a Delivery Fee?
There is no delivery fee for Costco Groceries, but the prices of items are marked up to cover the delivery and service.
For Same-Day grocery delivery, orders must be $35 or more, and prices will be higher than your local warehouse prices. Same-Day groceries also cost more than 2-Day groceries. Some price differences are slight, while others are larger. For example, a rotisserie chicken costs $5.99 with Same-Day, only $1 more than if you shopped in the store. On the other hand, a package of ground beef that is just over $18 was $23.55 with Same-Day delivery — a $5 difference.
For Costco 2-Day Delivery, online prices are still higher than in-warehouse prices, but orders of $75+ do not have a separate delivery or handling fee.

Is a Costco Membership Required for Grocery Delivery?
Not a Costco member? All Costco grocery delivery is through Instacart; grocery is not available to non-members. You can still shop at Costco through Instacart. Shopping this way will incur an additional fee on top of the higher prices, plus the delivery and service fees. If you are new to Instacart, though, your first delivery is free.

Can you use EBT for Costco Grocery Delivery?
While EBT (or food stamp debit cards) is not currently available for Costco’s online grocery orders delivered to the home, Costco will accept EBT for in-warehouse shopping.
As per the Costo website, all stores locations accept EBT cards and adhere to all state laws regarding what can be purchased with EBT cards.
You can also review a complete list of products that qualify for purchase with the EBT card through each state agency.
2. Walmart Grocery Delivery
Walmart grocery delivery is easy to use through a desktop or phone app. The way Walmart grocery delivery works is, once the order is placed online a store associate will collect the items you’ve selected and a third party will deliver. A delivery time can be scheduled for up to a week in advance, and someone must be home to receive the order at the designated time. Walmart also offers an Express delivery service with orders arriving within 2-hours.
Does Walmart Grocery Have a Delivery Fee?
Since March 2021, Walmart has removed the minimum order amount but there is a delivery fee of $7.95 to $9.95. This service saves from the hassle of having to go back to the store when that important ingredient for dinner was forgotten. Express delivery, within 2-hours, carries an additional $10 fee.
A free 15-day trial of a Walmart+ membership will remove the regular delivery fee, but the Express delivery fee remains regardless of membership status.
Can you use EBT for Walmart Grocery Delivery?
In select States, EBT is available for the purchase of grocery delivery from Walmart stores.
3. Amazon Prime Grocery Delivery
Amazon grocery delivery allows shoppers to order a broad variety of fresh and high-quality foods from Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods and other select grocery retailers in your area. For example in my zip code, Bristol Farms is also an option.
An Amazon Prime membership offers free next-day delivery with no minimum purchase and Same-Day delivery for prime members with a $35 minimum order. If Same-Day orders are below the minimum, a $2.99 fee is applied per order. Non-Prime members can order for the price of $12.99 per order.
Same-day orders are available in different time blocks by city and range from 5-hour windows, four delivery times per day, or orders placed in the morning are delivered by 9 pm.
Check the Prime delivery page for availability in your area.
Amazon Prime Now Offers 2-Hour Grocery Delivery
Prime Now offers 2-hour delivery for free for Prime members and $12.99 for non-members (after initially only offering a longer 5-hour window). Shop for items available for Prime Now on primenow.amazon.com or in the Prime Now app.
Where Does Amazon Grocery Deliver?
Availability of the Same-Day store by area can be checked here.
Does Amazon Accept EBT for Grocery Delivery?
In many participating areas, customers with a SNAP EBT card have access to the Amazon Fresh selection without having to have a Prime membership. You can receive free delivery as well with a minimum order.
So Who Has the Best Online Grocery Delivery?
What is the value in grocery delivery options from Costco, Walmart, and Amazon? Comparing the options considers your membership preferences, shopping trends, and planning.
Is Costco Grocery Delivery Worth It?
For those who enjoy entertaining and fine food then Costco delivery is a great choice. The bulk packaging is less expensive and the 2-hour delivery saves in a pinch. As a member, why not save time driving to the warehouse and order the Same-Day service?
- Available for Same-Day delivery
- Overall cheaper due to bulk packaging
- Delivery fee included in prices

- Additional fees may apply for non-members
- Availability may be limited if you don’t live near Costco
- Must be home at time of delivery

Is Amazon Grocery Delivery Worth It?
If you are a Prime member, then Amazon grocery delivery is an added convenience to an already broad range of services included in the membership. Just discovered that tonight’s dinner guest has a special diet? That’s no problem with Prime. A Prime membership of $119 per year, or $13 per month, pays for itself in just one grocery order a month by skipping the $12.99 per order delivery fee.
- No delivery fee
- Orders deliver within two hours (one-hour delivery is also available for an added fee)
- Selection can include Whole Foods and other grocers in your area
- Do not need to be home at time of delivery
- Requires Prime membership
- Overall more expensive compared to Costco and Walmart
Is Walmart+ Grocery Delivery Worth It?
Families who find themselves at Walmart many times a day will save a lot of time with Walmart delivery. Without the minimum purchase requirement, it makes running out of milk or a last-minute dinner plan much more manageable.
The annual membership dues of $98 break down to $12.95 per month. So, if deliveries are ordered twice a month, the membership can offer additional savings in cost. The Walmart+ membership is a great option that saves time and money through free unlimited delivery. With the high cost of gas right now, you can even save a trip and reduce your monthly gas expenses.
- Same-day delivery available
- No membership required
- No order minimum
- Delivery fees apply (but is waived with Walmart paid membership)
- Must be home at the time of delivery
There is no argument that you will save money (per item) by shopping at a physical at Costco warehouses since item prices are cheaper in the store. However, when you calculate in time in the car and such, home delivery for groceries is still a better deal if you love Costco’s inventory and offerings.
As a mom of three kids ages seven and under, shopping at Costco warehouse takes an average of two hours to drive to the store, settle the kids, shop, drive home, load the car and put all the groceries away. Also, I usually buy something I did not originally plan for — #goodbyebudget.
At the risk of sounding lame and out of shape, a Costco trip wipes me out. I usually come home tired, grumpy and bloated from the Costco hot dog deal I had to buy because the children were starving to death.
Comparing that time and the energy needed to shop indoors versus Costco grocery delivery that places the bags that right on my front porch, shopping Costco online took me 20 minutes, with only an additional 10 minutes to put away the groceries from my front door.
So was Costco Same-Day worth the extra cost per item? Yes. It’s probably especially worth it if you:
A) Have more children than arms.
B) Have a busy work/life schedule with very little downtime to attempt a Costco trip.
C) Live in a large city with only one Costco. Read: It’s always crowded.
D) All of the above.
Costco Same-Day is also very convenient when you want to shop on busy holidays or if you need extra help when prepping for a party. As far as service and price go, Costco and Walmart were neck and neck. And both grocery delivery services also outranked Amazon Fresh in terms of both price and selection.
Create a Costco Deal Alert
While I would ultimately choose Costco grocery delivery over Walmart’s due to the quality of produce and meat, if price is your deciding factor, Walmart is certainly worth a look — especially when you consider that they do not require an annual fee.

Costco Delivery: How It Works and How Much It Costs
We all lead busy lives—and it’s not always easy to find time for grocery shopping. Whether you’re running low on cleaning supplies or you need to stock up on your favorite snacks, Costco delivery has got you covered.
Costco offers same-day delivery through Instacart and Shipt on orders over $35, allowing customers to order groceries without a Costco membership. Costco also offers Costco members free 2-day delivery on orders over $75 through CostcoGrocery, which delivers household essentials and non-perishables.
In this article, we’ll take a look at how Costco delivery works, whether you can order Costco delivery without a Costco membership, and how much you can expect to pay for Costco’s delivery services.
How Does Costco Delivery Work?
Costco offers same-day delivery services through Instacart and Shipt, as well as 2-day delivery through Costco online. To order Costco delivery, all you need to do is add your Costco favorites to your cart and place your order.
With same-day delivery, members in qualifying zip codes can order groceries through Instacart or Shipt, including perishable items like produce, meat, and seafood.
Meanwhile, with Costco’s 2-day delivery, you can stock up on household essentials like cleaning supplies, non-perishable snacks, and laundry detergent.
Costco Same-Day Delivery
Costco offers same-day delivery options through Shipt and Instacart. Here’s how to place an order for same-day delivery.
- Using the Instacart or Shipt app or website, choose Costco as your retailer.
- Select the items you want to order to add them to your cart.
- Review your cart and make any adjustments as needed.
- Confirm your order details and place your order.
Both Instacart and Shipt offer a wide range of delivery windows. If you’re on a tight schedule, both services offer delivery in as little as one hour. Alternatively, you can choose to schedule delivery for later in the day.
Costco 2-Day Delivery
Costco offers two-day delivery through Costco online. To place an order for 2-day delivery through CostcoGrocery, follow these steps:
- Visit CostcoGrocery and log in to your Costco account.
- Add your favorite Costco products to your cart.
- Review your cart and place your order.
Costco members enjoy free delivery on orders over $75. However, prices are usually higher than your local warehouse to cover the fulfillment cost.
How Much Does Costco Delivery Cost?
If you’re a Costco member and order at least $75 worth of groceries, you will not pay an additional fee for 2-day delivery orders. For Costco Same-day delivery through Instacart, you will pay a delivery fee per order, which is generally $3.99 for orders over $35. There’s also an optional tip for your delivery driver.
With that said, Costco members may face additional charges for certain orders. For example, Costco’s non-perishable pantry items have a $3 per-item delivery fee, but Costco will waive this fee if you spend over $75.
Same-day delivery orders through Instacart involve a per-delivery service fee and delivery fees starting at $3.99 for orders over $35.
When ordering through Instacart, it’s also recommended to leave a tip for your delivery driver to show your support.
Your Instacart service fee will vary depending on your location and specific order, and orders containing alcohol have a separate alcohol service fee.
If you’re an Instacart Express member, reduced service fees and alcohol service fees can help you save money when ordering same-day delivery.
Alternatively, if you order through Shipt, delivery is free for Shipt members on orders over $35. For smaller orders, Shipt charges a $7 delivery fee to cover the cost of delivery. There’s also an optional tip for your Shipt driver.
Shipt’s prices are also slightly higher than Costco’s warehouse prices, and members can expect to pay an extra “convenience fee” totaling a few dollars for Shipt delivery.
Can You Get Costco Delivery without a Membership?
Non-members can order Costco delivery through Instacart or Shipt. However, Instacart and Shipt charge per-delivery service fees. Therefore, investing in a $60 basic Costco membership may help you cut grocery costs if you are ordering Costco grocery delivery regularly.
In 2017, Shipt partnered with Costco to offer same-day delivery for non-members. When you order through Shipt, you can order all your favorite Costco brands, including Kirkland Signature, Costco Bakery, and Clorox, without purchasing a Costco membership.
Like Shipt, Instacart also offers same-day Costco grocery delivery. With Instacart, you can shop your local Costco warehouse for your favorite products.
Instacart offers contactless delivery options, and it’s easy to track your order’s progress using the mobile app or website. In addition to delivery, Instacart also offers store pickup options.
Are Costco Delivery Prices the Same As in Store?
When it comes to delivery prices, Costco’s online prices are often slightly higher than Costco’s warehouse due to the shipping and handling fees charged for 2-day delivery. Instacart’s prices are the most similar to warehouse prices, while Shipt adds a “convenience fee” to each item for delivery.
According to Consumer Reports, Costco’s member pricing for 2-day delivery is 31 percent higher, on average, than Costco’s warehouse prices.
Shipt also charges a “convenience fee” for each item ordered through Shipt delivery, which typically totals around $0.30 per item.
Costco non-members who order same-day delivery through Instacart Express typically pay less than Costco and Shipt members. However, Instacart’s service fee, which totals $5 in most areas, can add up over time.
If you’re ordering Costco through Instacart or Shipt regularly, paying $60 for Costco’s basic membership may be able to help you cut costs.
Do You Tip Costco Delivery?
Tipping your Costco delivery driver is a great way to show your driver how much you appreciate their service. When you place an order for Costco same-day delivery, Instacart calculates the default tip as 5% or the tip percentage you chose for your previous order, whichever is higher.
There’s a minimum suggested tip of $2 for each Costco delivery order. However, Costco does not require customers to leave a tip when ordering delivery.
During the checkout process, you’ll have the option to leave a tip for your delivery driver. If your driver goes above and beyond, it’s possible to change your tip after your delivery is complete.
If you change your mind after your order is delivered, you can use the Instacart app to adjust your tip within 24 hours of the delivery.
Whether you’re placing an order through Instacart, Shipt, or Costco online, it’s worth noting that 100% of your tip goes to your driver.
Does Costco Deliver Alcohol?
Costco delivers alcohol in select states through Instacart. To check whether alcohol is available for delivery in your area, visit the Instacart app or website. To place an alcohol delivery order, you must be 21 or older and provide a valid photo ID showing your birth date at the time of delivery.
According to the Costco website, some legal restrictions apply to alcohol delivery orders. For example, Costco cannot honor special requests for alcohol products, and shoppers can only replace out-of-stock alcohol products with other alcoholic products.
Additionally, Costco cannot deliver alcohol to individuals who are visibly intoxicated.
Whether you’re stocking up for a long weekend or planning your weekly meal prep, nothing beats the convenience of Costco delivery. If you’re on the fence about trying Costco’s grocery same-day delivery service, consider trying Instacart’s 14-day free Instacart Express trial to save on delivery fees.

Costco Grocery Delivery: Everything You Need to Know
It’s no secret that smart shoppers love their Costco membership perks. The warehouse giant not only carries a wide range of products, but the savings and deals it offers families can make membership more than worth it. It’s also no secret that shopping at Costco can be, well, frustrating. Shoppers have to deal with the hassle of crowds, long lines and parking lot chaos. Fortunately, Costco offers two grocery delivery options so you can stock up on your favorite items without leaving your home.
How does Costco grocery delivery work?
Costco members can choose from two grocery delivery options: same-day delivery for all groceries (including fresh, frozen and household supplies) and a two-day delivery option for non-perishable food and household supplies.
- Costco Same-Day Delivery via Instacart: If you want your Costco food and goods fresh and want them delivered fast, the same-day delivery option will save you time and headaches. Deliveries (a minimum $35 order is required) are fulfilled by Instacart, a grocery service that delivers perishable items such as dairy and produce, in addition to dry and boxed goods. There are currently about 2,000 Costco products available on Instacart and all eligible items will be listed depending on your ZIP code. You choose a two-hour delivery window for Instacart to deliver your items, and in some markets, you can receive your order in two to three hours. Keep in mind that your Same-Day Delivery cart is separate from the Costco.com cart, so you must check out your same-day delivery order separately.
The convenience of same-day delivery means item prices are higher than your local Costco warehouse, as they include service and delivery fees charged by Instacart. And although available in most metropolitan areas depending on ZIP code, Instacart is not available everywhere. If delivery is not available in your ZIP code, enter your email and Costco will notify you when service is in your area.
- CostcoGrocery Two-Day Delivery: CostcoGrocery offers Costco members two-day shipping on non-perishable food and household supplies, including the store brand Kirkland Signature products you can only get at Costco (so you’ll never run out of their best-selling olive oil and chocolate-covered almonds). Item prices for two-day delivery are also higher than your local warehouse, but there is no delivery fee for orders of $75 or more. You can check out your Two-Day Delivery items and Costco.com items at the same time, although shopping carts are listed separately in checkout so you can easily see which items have been added to each cart. Orders may only be delivered to one address.
How much does Costco grocery delivery cost?
For same-day delivery, a minimum order of $35 is required. Item prices already include delivery and service fees, but that also means items are more expensive than your local warehouse to cover the fees charged by Instacart. According to Costco, they make no additional profit from the fees. Prices don’t include a tip for the grocery delivery driver.
For two-day delivery, Costco doesn’t require a minimum order and doesn’t charge a separate delivery fee on orders of $75 or more. However, items may be available at a Costco warehouse at a lower non-delivered price.
Where is Costco grocery delivery available?
Same-day delivery is available in most metropolitan areas. Enter your ZIP code to determine if delivery is available. If delivery is not currently available, you can enter your email to receive a notification from Costco when service is in your area.
Two-day delivery is available nationwide, except Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
What is the delivery timeframe for Costco grocery orders?
For same-day delivery, orders arrive the same day, next day or day of your choice. You can choose a two-hour delivery window, although Costco reminds shoppers that weather or local and/or regional events outside of their control may impact the delivery window. You must be present to accept the delivery.
For two-day delivery, orders arrive within two business days. The cut-off for two-day delivery is noon. If you place your order Monday by noon, it will be delivered by Wednesday. Order by noon Tuesday, and your items will be delivered by Thursday, and so on. There are no weekend deliveries.
Do you have to be a Costco member to get grocery delivery?
Yes. Only Costco members can shop Costco Same-Day Delivery via Instacart and CostcoGrocery Two-Day Delivery.
Get a $10 Costco Shop Card with 1-Year Gold Star Membership for New Customers
Do I earn rewards for using Costco grocery delivery?
Yes. You get 2% cashback when you choose Same-Day Delivery or Two-Day Delivery for an online order using the Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi. You also earn the Executive Membership annual 2% reward when purchased on Same-Day Delivery or Two-Day Delivery orders. This Executive reward is earned on the original warehouse sell price before the markup and delivery costs are added.

GE JS645FL5DS Range is perfect. Simmering without boiling works well for making bone broth (overnight). Range heats quickly to correct temperature. Easy to clean cook top. We have used it daily for 3 months with no issues. Previously had Samsung Gas range that was awful. Ordered online through Costco. Super easy order and delivery/ installation! Matte black has a nice look that goes well with our other stainless steel appliances.
I've been dealing with the Hearing Dept. at Costco in Brighton MI for 15 years. I just picked up my new hearing aids after having lost my last set. Made it through COVID with the face masks for well over a year. Trust me that masks and behind the ear hearing aids don't mix well - the mask wins. Went to dinner a few weeks ago and came away with lost hearing aids. Costco's Kirkland top of the line is not only top quality but super reasonable. The fact that they insure a lost set for folks like me is a huge plus. I called. They ordered the replacement set and I can again hear. On top of that, the service is always first rate. Friendly, professional and always fast and efficient. Costco's Hearing Service in Brighton is 5 Star Plus.

I went to the Ancaster Hamilton store a day before the lockdown on Thursday April 8th 2021. I am disabled in a wheelchair. When I got there I was ready to wait in the long lineup as it was a beautiful day out, as I approached the lineup one of the workers from Costco came out and asked me to go to the front of the line and they would let me in. So I went ahead of other people as I didn’t know if there was a purpose for this as I could have waited in line like everyone else. When getting in to the building I noticed that there was no carts for wheelchairs so my sister went and got a regular one, as I have pushed them before.
Again one of the ladies came to me and replied “hold on” we will get someone to help you. That’s what she did, she got a gentleman worker to push the cart so that my sister could push me. I have to thank the Costco workers from Ancaster, from the bottom of my heart in helping me get in and out in 45 minutes as I have a suppressed immune system. With Covid 19 going on you can never be too sure. Thank you and stay safe Costco, you are the best.
It’s clean, has products with warranty, low prices, cash back, really good quality, the Costco store also has gasoline near their store with the lowest prices for gasoline and products, and they provided the hand sanitizer at the beginning and every corner of their store, they sell anything from grocery to pharmacy to deli with fresh food that they make in front of you with the lowest price, their cashiers always polite, fast and friendly and they always know what they are doing, in the past 30 years of my grocery the cashier never asked for help. They are trained really well. I go to Costco 3 times a week. I feel comfortable to shop there. Their pharmacy is so fast and knowledgeable that I feel like I am in the hospital. I order my prescription, get my grocery, pick my prescription and leave. Love it.
The vegetables are always fresh. Meats are always top notch. You can find any and all the things you need under one roof. Costco qualities in all of the merchandise is excellent. Customer services that is provided is always professional, helpful and friendly. That's is why I shop there more often than not.
Okay where should I begin. I remember some videos circling around Costco selling salmon with worms. I honestly thought Costco would have inspected their seafood after this incident but I was a victim. I decided to get the Coho salmon since it was not farmed. I get home start prepping it and as I started brushing olive oil I noticed something moving! It was a transparent long worm. Yes!! A worm, I kept looking at the salmon and noticed another one. I called Costco and told me to bring the tag and they would give me a refund. I went the next day, took it back, got my refund. The point is not that I got my refund but why is COSTCO selling fish with worms! Please BEWARE! Examine your fish before you eat it. Costco should seriously inspect their fish before selling them. Never again will I purchase any type of raw fish there. BEWARE OF WORMS IN THE FISH.
Appointment time for a simple tire rotation was made for Friday at 9 am. I was the first person before they even open the doors. Thinking that my car should be done at legible or take 1 hour so I can go back to work. And the time right now is 10:00 am and finally they pulled my car inside the garage. And the service representative at the tire center tells me that’s it’s a 2 hour wait from the time wait. Really so overall I’m waiting 3 hours for a tire rotation with an appointment. Also only one person working at the front lobby when they have 15 pictures of Michelin Certified Tire Technicians on the board. A lot of things are not right with this. Not happy at all. This is waste of time for me. The reason people make appointments is that they expected to be seen at that time. It’s not right very poor technicians that they have on site. For them being Certified and me waiting 3 hours being the first customer with an appointment.
I have attempted to use Costco online for appliances. Yes, you can save money, but the savings is NOT WORTH IT! We have rental properties. On 3 different houses, between purchases and replacements I have spent HOURS on the phone trying to sort each problem out. 100% of all appliance purchases and returns have been wrong and a nightmare to get resolved. Not to mention, time spent meeting the delivery team at the property, only to deny delivery because of damaged or wrong items, return visits for replacement items, etc., etc. I will NEVER purchase another appliance from Costco.
1. 12/2019 - Gas range, micro hood, dishwasher and refrigerator for house listed for sale. Standard depth fridge ordered, counter depth received. Replacement came after the open house.
2. 06/2021 - Refrigerator ordered with ice maker. Installers broke the connector on the ice maker hose. The ice maker could not be connected and I was told it was a plumbing issues and they could not fix it. I asked that the water be turned off and the fridge put in place, so the tenants would at least have a refrigerator. The delivery guys left the fridge in the middle of the family room, on the carpet, while they went outside to call their supervisor. While I was waiting on hold to resolve the issue with Costco customer service, I heard the front door open, the delivery person dropped the ice maker parts and paperwork inside the door, ran out and hopped in the truck. I attempted to stop them, but they drove away. I was left to remove & dispose of the packaging, put the refrigerator in place and scheduling (at my expense) someone to repair the broken connector and hook up the ice maker.
3. 09/2021 - Purchased a washer and dryer set for a rental. The delivery team began the unpacking process and the entire side of the washer was smashed in. Another washer and dryer would need to be delivered. Fortunately, I had time before the tenants were moving in.
The second washer and dryer were delivered 2 weeks later. Washer worked well, dryer turned on, heated but the drum would not turn. By the time the tenants realized it, the dryer was hot to the touch. POTENTIAL FIRE DANGER! I contacted Costco and began the process to get a replacement. The replacement would take 3 business days. 2 days later, I was notified the dryer was out of stock and NO DATE as to when it would be available. More time on the phone. Costco could not deliver another brand, I simply needed to cancel the entire set or wait for a replacement (with no date).
I located a set at Lowe's that could be delivered in 2 days (costing me $400 more). Again, more time on the phone attempting to get both the washer and dryer cancelled, scheduled for pickup and my money refunded. 10 days later, I receive an email from Costco to pick a date for both items to be picked up and returned. I selected the earliest dates available and received no reply back. Once again, I called Costco customer service, 42 minutes later I am told, the only date available for pick up in the area is 1 week later.
Costco Customer Service Representatives and their supervisors have been polite and very apologetic. But kindness and apologies simply are not enough. Costco does a lot of things well ... appliances and deliveries is certainly not one of them. Spend the extra money, save a lot of time and frustration and buy your appliances elsewhere.
I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for large deliveries. Especially an appliance. We sat and waited for 13 hours after waiting a week for a fridge. No emails, no phone calls. The worst thing someone can say in customer service is “I understand”. They don’t understand. It’s patronizing. So we are canceling this order and probably canceling the membership.
I do not know what is going on. I have never had this problem before with any retailers but this has happened three times recently at Costco. I was paying with a check. They tell you to just sign it and their machine will fill it out. They are supposed to show you the filled out check so you can just quickly verify it is the same amount as what your receipt is. This is the third time recently that 1. Cashier would not show me my check after she ran it through the cash register. 2. Rolled her eyes over and over when I told her nicely I needed to see my check.
3. Eye rolls several more times as I told her nothing printed on the check. It was blank except for my signature. I told her that I had to fill out the amount and she was angry. Why do they not have ink in their machines as they are coming out blank. I do not like to be treated that way. I do not treat people that way. Costco shopping has always been a positive experience but I have brought it to the attention of the store and nothing was done. My Costco membership is up in about 2 weeks. Sam's Club is just a mile away and I am going to check it out!
Very excited, I realized that she did not immediately come, only about five minutes later. I began to watch her, but if it really should mean it should, my phone rang and I had to leave, I could not talk with loud music, it was. An important call, when I returned, I could not find my wife on the dance floor. I started looking for her, searched the whole club, even looked in M.
