Chrome Buckle 4 Point Seat Belt
Our 4 point seat belts are universal to all makes and model vehicles and are labeled Federal Safety Standard approved #302! These four point seat belts are perfect for the middle seat position of bench seats providing shoulder harness restraints where none were available before. Although referred to as four point seatbelts because there are 2 shoulder straps using a Y-shoulder harness, they actually have only 3 anchor points. Also great for use of infant car seat in the middle position that require a shoulder harness strap. (Child car seat restraint / harness.) For bucket seat installations, this seatbelt is best used with bucket seats with adjustable headrest (not where headrest and seat are all one piece). Seat belts work in either driver, passenger or middle position in your car, truck or van. Price includes 1 restraint. These floor mount 4 point belts with 2 inch shoulder harness which are retrofit products and are not original manufacturer's equipment. Will NOT work with seats with an integrated headrest.
NOT for use in off-road or racing vehicles!
These 4 point seatbelts have a Chrome Lift-Latch style buckle for that retro aviation style look which features 2 inch shoulder harnesses for both shoulders that extend to 34 inches when fully extended, plus a 36 inch tail strap that anchors to the floor of the vehicle.The lap belt portion extends to 76 inches. These seatbelts work for either, driver, passenger or middle seat positions in your car, van, truck or RV. This seat belt is perfect for the middle position of a bench seat where you would like to have a shoulder restraint seatbelt or would like a seat belt to attach a child car seat / baby car seat which requires a shoulder harness seat belt. Lol was not trying to be Johnny know it all...it is just what I ran across when I went to buy belts for mine. I could just see Dilbert dipstick denying my inspection to be a jerk! Lol plus I find not want to fight a harness for daily driving. I would however like the added protection for racing!

Before you do anything I'd speak with the "Tech Department" for whatever brand of belt you're considering. There are ways to safely install racing type belts in a street car/truck. Let the manufacturer give you advice for their particular brand of belts.
As for welding a bar across behind the seat, it isn't that simple. The bar needs to be part of a properly designed roll cage. Welding a thick wall bar to sheet metal is a bad idea.
