Another submenu close to Warzone is the Store, your home for purchasing various bundles, cosmetic packs, and the full Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War and/or Modern Warfare® experiences.

Here, you’ll find a mixture of content from both Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare games, nearly all of which can be utilized in Warzone and the game for which it was designed. All items will be clearly labeled with the game they are originally from. If an item is labeled as “Warzone only” or “Black Ops Cold War only” or “Modern Warfare only,” then it can only be used in that game.

By using in-game COD Points – the game’s virtual currency– you can pick up the Battle Pass or purchase bundles within the Store. You can earn these COD Points through the Battle Pass or by purchasing from the Franchise Store within the Store menu. COD Points purchased or earned in any of the three games – Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare – will all appear in your account across all three games.

There are also some cases where you can purchase certain cosmetic items directly with your first-party platform account balance.

NOTE: You don’t have to own the full Black Ops Cold War OR Modern Warfare games to purchase Bundles from the Store.

Here is what you can find within the Store:

Bundles are your main way of getting multiple cosmetic items in one streamlined package. Bundles are usually packaged with a certain theme, and you can preview each item of the bundle individually before you buy it.

Bundles are broken down into multiple horizontal carousels within the Warzone Store, and are arranged in lines that can be cycled through by moving your mouse or control stick left or right across it. Here’s what each one has in store for you:

Featured – The latest and greatest Bundles will appear in the first tab.

Operators & Identity – Bundles that specifically showcase new Operator skins or content for your Identity, such as Calling Cards, will go here.

Blueprints – Here, you’ll find Bundles that are centered around Weapon Blueprints only.

Just for You – This is where you’ll occasionally find gift packs from our developers! Also, this section features bundles based on previous ones you’ve purchased.

Modern Warfare Vault – Across the first four store carousels, the vast majority of Bundles will be from Black Ops Cold War. This carousel will feature content specifically from Modern Warfare.

Bundles can feature…

Weapon Blueprints

A Weapon Blueprint is a variant of a base weapon, complete with a different name and cosmetic differences (such as paintwork, or the ability to fire color tracer bullets, for example), as well as pre-equipped with attachments.

These attachments are given to you on this specific Weapon Blueprint without needing to level up the weapon to earn them. This way, you can utilize specific cool attachments before you earn them by leveling up. You can still earn all weapon attachments organically and swap out – or add – attachments to Weapon Blueprints that are earned organically through leveling up that weapon.

In other words, Blueprints look cool and offer a few attachments you may not already have for that weapon but can still earn in the long run.

We cover this in our breakdown on Weapon Blueprints here.

Weapon Camos, Reticles, Charms and Stickers

These cosmetic items spruce up a weapon by giving it a fresh coat of paint with a cool design, a different type of reticle when an optic attachment is in use, a small trinket that hangs on the weapon’s side, or stickers that can be attached to specific parts of the weapon.

Although every weapon can be outfitted with a camo, certain weapon classes may have a different number of places to put down weapon stickers or may not have the ability to carry a charm.

Also, remember that weapon camos, reticles, charms, and stickers bought within Black Ops Cold War Bundles will only be available for Black Ops Cold War weapons. The same applies for these items within Modern Warfare Store Bundles and Modern Warfare weapons.

Vehicle Customization – Skins and Horns

Need a fresh paint job for your ride around Verdansk or Rebirth Island? What about giving your squad a proper rally cry for the next engagement by having your Horn beep a classical tune or more menacing noise?

These can both be done through the Vehicle Skin and Vehicle Horn options, respectively. Vehicle Skins are available for each Warzone vehicle separately – the ATV, Tactical Rover, SUV, Cargo Truck, and Helicopter/Attack Helicopter – while Horns can be used by any of the vehicles, although the exact tone may be pitch shift depending on the type of vehicle.

You can find purchased or earned Vehicle Skins and Horns within the Vehicle Customization submenu, found in the Weapons menu.

Need something for your operator to wear on their wrist in combat? No matter what operator you choose, the watch equipped within this menu will be worn by your operator in-game. Each one has its own flair and some even have interactable elements…

Want to rep your favorite Call of Duty League Team? There is a watch for that. What about a nice, clean fancy watch that details the real time and date up to the second? There is a watch for that. How about a watch that counts your kills on a cool, retro-inspired colorful digital readout? Yes, that’s technically a watch too. What about a watch that allows you to hatch and look after your very own pet monster? Yup, you guessed it, there is a watch for that (and it’s called the Tomogunchi).

You can equip a Watch within the Weapons menu, with its submenu located in between the Loadout and Armory sections.

Operator Skins, Quips, and Finishing Moves

By default all Operators in Warzone have base skins, but if you want to stand out in a crowd or look more engrained in your surroundings, Operator skins get the job done.

Speaking of “getting the job done,” that’s where Finishing Moves come into play. These deadly maneuvers that add some serious flair to taking down an enemy player.

Operators from Modern Warfare also have quips, voice lines they can say after eliminating an enemy.

You can read more about these personalization items and finishing moves – and see some examples of them – in our Operators section here.

Franchise Store: COD Points, Call of Duty League Team Packs, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Outside of bundles, the other major section of the Store is the Franchise Store. Located at the end of the menu, this is where you can add COD Points to your account, as well as pick up Call of Duty League™ Team Packs, purchase any packs to support the Call of Duty Endowment (when available), and upgrade to the full Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare experience.

Call of Duty League Team Packs are one example of a bundle that cannot be purchased with COD Points. These packs allow you to rep your favorite professional Call of DutyLeague team and come complete with two Operator skins for all base Operators, a weapon camo, charm, sticker, watch, calling card, emblem, and spray.

You can also expand your Call of Duty experience outside of Warzone by purchasing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game in the Franchise Store, too. If you decide to purchase either game, you’ll find that your Warzone rank and all your unlocks from the Military Ranks, in addition to cosmetic items and other content, will be kept between games, and you’ll also be able to unlock every base operator in both games.

Note: after purchasing either game, a separate download will be required to play it.

Modern Warfare and Warzone COD Points explained: How to get free and paid COD Points

Modern Warfare and Warzone COD Points is an in-game currency that's used for purchasing the Battle Pass or items in the Store.

Though they are a premium currency and the primary method of unlocking them is through purchasing them with cash, there is a method of getting free COD Points through gameplay.

However, be warned, it might take you a while.

On this page:

How to get COD Points in Modern Warfare and Warzone

There are two primary methods of getting COD Points in Modern Warfare and Warzone:

  • Purchasing from the Store with real world money
  • Levelling up the Battle Pass (some available for free)

Spending real money is the primary and most realistic way of getting COD Points. Though you can earn free COD Points - see below as to how - if you wanted to get the Battle Pass, there's no way to get it without spending real money first.

It's worth knowing the Battle Pass - which costs 1000 COD Points - will give you 1300 COD Points in return if you level it up to Tier 98, financing the next Battle Pass and then some when it's available.

This means, in theory, you only have to pay for a Battle Pass with real money just the once, as provided you put the hours in and save those COD Points until the next season, you can earn the next one through play.

How to get free COD points in Warzone

The Season 2 Battle Pass for Warzone offers 1300 COD points, spread across multiple tiers as rewards, with 300 of these COD points being attached to 'Free' tiers.

The COD points reward tiers are as follows:

  • 100 COD points - Tier 6 (Free)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 12 (Premium)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 17 (Premium)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 23 (Premium)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 32 (Premium)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 41 (Premium)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 48 (Free)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 56 (Premium)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 66 (Premium)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 74 (Premium)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 82 (Premium)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 91 (Premium)
  • 100 COD points - Tier 98 (Free)

Unlocking all of the free COD points is not easy, especially considering that the last one is located at Tier 98, which means that, if you're planning on playing Warzone long term, then the Battle Pass is a worthy investment.

As mentioned above, purchasing the Battle Pass does offer you the opportunity to earn back the COD points you've spent.

Considering the Season 2 Battle Pass costs 1000 COD points, we can assume that the Season 2 Battle Pass will also cost the same amount. This means that, if you reach Tier 74, you will have earned enough COD points to purchase the next Season's Battle Pass.

How to get free COD Points in Modern Warfare

Every Battle Pass will offer a selection of items for free without having to purchase it. This includes Season 1's Battle Pass, which includes 300 of the 1300 COD Points rewarded by levelling it up.

They are as follows:

  • 100 COD Points - Tier 6 (Free)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 12 (Premium)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 17 (Premium)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 23 (Premium)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 32 (Premium)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 41 (Premium)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 48 (Free)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 56 (Premium)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 66 (Premium)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 74 (Premium)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 82 (Premium)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 91 (Premium)
  • 100 COD Points - Tier 98 (Free)

It's not easy to get free COD Points - especially as you have to get to Tier 98 to get all 300 - though you can earn 100 from reaching Tier 6, which should be easily manageable.

As mentioned above, if you intend on playing the Battle Pass to completion, it's worth paying for the Battle Pass as you get your COD Points investment back by the end, which will be enough to then purchase the next one when it rolls around.

What are COD Points used for in Modern Warfare and Warzone?

In Modern Warfare, to buy COD points, you have to visit the Store, which is at the far end of the Multiplayer menu. COD Points are then used for the following:

Meanwhile, in Warzone, you need to head to the tab labelled 'Store' and then scroll down until you reach the section entitled, 'Franchise Store.' Here you'll be able to purchase COD points, as well as access the Call of Duty League and Franchise Store.

Once purchased, COD points can be used to purchase the following:

  • Purchasing the Battle Passes for both Modern Warfare and Warzone (1000 COD Points)
  • Skipping a Battle Pass Tier (100 COD Points)
  • Purchasing bundles from the Store (various)

In short - they are used for cosmetic and Store-based items.

They aren't essential to playing either games, and though the vast majority of items are cosmetic, since the Battle Pass and Store bundles do offer Blueprints, they can affect gameplay by giving you easy means to get perks and attachments for select weapons.

Cosmetic microtransactions have become an integral part of the gaming industry—and one of the leaders of gaming is the Call of Duty franchise.

A lot of new content is now added to Call of Duty for free, like maps, which used to cost money. Now, development for the game and the people who make it is supported by optional purchases, like character skins.

The in-game store in CoD is routinely loaded with amazing cosmetics. Each week, new customization packs are added, featuring skins for characters, weapon blueprints, new melee weapons, weapon charms, stickers, watches, and much more.

To buy things in Call of Duty, you need CoD Points. CoD Points are the in-game currency for Call of Duty games, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone.

Here’s how to get CoD Points in Modern Warfare and Warzone.
