You will need:

Please allow 90 days for receipt of the accident report by the law enforcement agency and to be data entered into the driver license system. The department maintains accident information for seven years.

Hiker rescued near East Ridge Trail

A hiker was rescued Sunday in the area of the East Ridge Trail, just below the summit of Mount Sanitas, an area just outside Boulder, after suffering an injury when she fell. The 35-year-old woman injured her ankle when she slipped and fell while descending the summit. The woman called her friends, who brought materials to splint her leg, but was still unable to walk out with the splint.

Elderly man killed in Loveland crash identified

An elderly man, who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Loveland has been identified. The Larimer County Coroner’s Office said he is 71-year-old Mark Berger of Loveland. Pedestrian hit by Jeep, killed in Fort Collins, police say

A Jeep hit and killed a pedestrian who was in the 1500 block of East Harmony Road in Fort Collins on Friday night, police reported. Fort Collins police reported that the Jeep was headed west on Harmony when it hit a man who was in the road just before 7 p.m., closing a section of Harmony Road for more than four hours as authorities investigated.

Coroner identifies Longmont cyclist who died in Friday crash

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office identified the cyclist who died in a collision with a vehicle Friday morning at Colo. 119 and Airport Road. William Thurmes, 63, of Longmont, died at the scene Friday. Fatal Crash on Hwy 99E-Clackamas County- 10/17/21

On Saturday, October 16, 2021 at approximately 6:49 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a three-vehicle crash on Hwy 99E at Oak Grove Boulevard. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a northbound Chevy Trailblazer, operated by Angelina Sloan (43) of Portland, rear-ended a Toyota Yaris, operated by Terry Tomaszewski (59) of Milwaukie, that was stopped at a red light. The collision caused both vehicles to slide into the intersection where the Chevy Trailblazer also collided with a westbound Saturn SUV, operated by a 17-year-old female of Milwaukie, that was proceeding through the intersection on a green light. 

A passenger in the Toyota Yaris, Mary Ring (70) of Portland, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Sloan, Tomaszewski and the 17-old driver were all taken to area hospitals for injuries. 

OSP was assisted by Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Clackamas County Fire Department and ODOT. 

Fatal Crash on Hwy 26-Grant County- 10/15/21

On Thursday, October 14, 2021 at approximately 7:55 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 26 near milepost 152. 

Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound Toyota Prius, operated by Janet Nevels (73) of Garden Valley, Idaho, drifted off the roadway, lost control and struck a concrete bridge structure. 

Nevels sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Hwy 26 was closed from approximately 1 hour. 

OSP was assisted by Grant County Sheriff’s Department, John Day Police Department, Blue Mountain EMT’s, Mt. Vernon Fire Department and ODOT.

Fatal Crash on Hwy 199-Josephine County- 10/15/21

On October 14, 2021 at about 12:55 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on Highway 199 at mile post 15. 

Preliminary investigation revealed that a southbound Toyota Tundra crossed the northbound lane of travel and exited the roadway at a high rate of speed. The Toyota went up an embankment and rolled at least once before coming to rest on its top. The Toyota ignited and burned completely. 

The unidentified driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Fatal Crash on Hwy 126E-Lane County- 10/12/21

On Monday, October 11th, 2021 at approximately 8:48 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two-vehicle crash that was blocking Highway 126E near Leaburg at milepost 19. 

Preliminary investigation revealed that a Toyota 4-Runner, operated by Nathan Lee Langan (29) of Harrisburg, was traveling westbound and crossed into the oncoming lane striking an eastbound Ford F350 Pickup, operated by Richard Edwin Andrews (42) of Blue River. 

Langan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Andrews sustained minor injuries. 

Highway 126E was closed for approximately 3 hours. 

OSP was assisted by Lane County Sheriff's Office, ODOT and Mckenzie Fire.

Fatal Crash on Hwy 34-Linn County- 10/11/21

On Sunday, October 10, 2021 at approximately 7:19 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 34 near milepost 15. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a westbound Pontiac G5, operated by Darin Kleiven (54) of Sweet Home, crossed into the oncoming lanes and struck an eastbound Mack semi-truck, operated by JD Hawkins (26) of Lebanon. A Jeep Patriot, operated by Lynea Johnson (29) of Sweet Home, was following the CMV and was struck by debris from the crash. 

Kleiven sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Hawkins and Johnson were uninjured. 

Hwy 34 was closed for approximately 4 hours. Speed and weather conditions are being investigated as contributing factors to the crash. 

OSP was assisted by Lebanon Fire Department, Lebanon Police Department and ODOT. 

Fatal Crash on Hwy 140E-Lake County- 10/08/21

On Thursday, October 7th, 2021, the Oregon State Police and Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a disabled vehicle near on Highway 140E near milepost 10. Upon arrival, it was determined that the vehicle was involved in a rollover crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound Ford Taurus, operated by Joshua Harrer (27) of Orovada, Nevada, for unknown reasons went off the roadway and rolled. 

Harrer sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.

OSP was assisted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

OSP Fish & Wildlife asking for public assistance in a 5-point Elk left to waste- Douglas County (Photo)- 10/07/21

On October 5, 2021, OSP Fish and Wildlife Troopers out of the Roseburg Office were notified that a 5-point bull elk was left to waste on a BLM road between Turkey Creek and Upper Cow Creek Road in South Douglas County just east of Interstate-5 and Canyon Mountain. 

A preliminary investigation has revealed that the animal was shot once through the back on a gravel roadway. The vehicle of interest has large mud terrain-type tires and left the area after shooting the elk, leaving it to waste.

Fatal Crash on Hwy 51-Polk County- 10/06/21

On October 5, 2021 at approximately 7:36 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a bicyclist on Hwy 51 near milepost 4.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a southbound bicyclist, Frank Koch (80) of Independence, was struck from behind by a southbound Toyota Prius, operated by Krystal Kamback, (33) of Independence. 

Koch sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Kamback was uninjured, remained at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement.

Hwy 51 was closed for approximately 3 hours. 

OSP was assisted by Polk County Fire and Medics, Polk County Sheriff’s Office and ODOT. 

Fatal Crash on Hwy 58-Lane County- 10/06/21

On Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at approximately 1:06 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 58 near milepost 26. 

Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound Honda Civic, operated by Ellen Fiske (52) of Florence, crossed over into the oncoming lane and struck a Peterbilt commercial motor vehicle, operated by Travis Murphy (48) of Klamath Falls. 

Fiske sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Murphy was not injured. 

Hwy 58 was closed for approximately 2 hours and lanes were restricted for an additional 5 hours.

Update- OSP Seeking Assistance for Missing Person- Douglas County (Photo)- 10/05/21

Thanks to the public’s assistance, OSP received information Marco CURRIN might be at the location in Roseburg. OSP went the location to hand out flyers and found him. Marco CURRIN was found safe and sound.

The Oregon State Police (OSP) Roseburg Area Command is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing person.

On September 28, 2021, OSP Troopers responded to an abandoned green 2006 Nissan Altima on Interstate 5 near the 108 on-ramp.  Troopers found that the Nissan was a hazard and towed the vehicle. 

On September 30, 2021, it was learned that the owner of the vehicle, Marco CURRIN (51) from Olympia, Washington, was reported as a missing person.  Family from Newport Beach, California reported him missing to local authorities.  OSP personnel contacted Newport Beach Police Department to let them know that CURRIN’s vehicle had been towed. 

At this time, OSP, is assisting Newport Beach Police Department in locating CURRIN. 

CURRIN is described being about 5’7” tall and weighing between 135-140lbs.  He has reddish gray hair and wears a pair of round eye glasses.

Officer Involved Shooting Investigation-Clackamas County- 10/05/21

On October 4, 2021, at approximately 10:21 a.m., Molalla Police Department officers responded to a medical assistance call at the residence of Brian Mills, located on the 700 Block of W. Main St. Molalla, OR. After arriving on scene officers contacted Mr. Mills, who began arming himself. Officer’s attempts to negotiate and de-escalate Mr. Mills were unsuccessful. Mr. Mills began shooting at civilians and officers. 

A civilian received minor injuries as a result of gunfire and was treated and released from the hospital on October 4, 2021. Officers were able to evacuate all occupants from the area and no additional injuries were reported. 

One Molalla Police officer returned fire during the incident.  Mr. Mills was eventually taken into custody without further incident. Mr. Mills was lodged at Clackamas County Jail on charges of Attempted Aggravated Murder, Attempted Assault first degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Recklessly Endangering.

The Molalla Police officer was placed on administrative leave pursuant to Clackamas County Senate Bill 111 Protocols. No officers were injured in this incident and the officer’s identity will be released at a later date.

OSP requests seeking public assistance on poaching incident- Wallowa County (Photo)- 10/05/21

On September 25, 2021, the Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Troopers were notified by a local citizen that a 3x3 whitetail buck deer was poached along School Flat Rd near the intersection with School Flat Ln within the Sled Springs Wildlife Management Unit sometime prior to 8:00 A.M. The whitetail buck was shot with a large caliber firearm on private property, approximately 30 yards from the road and the entire deer was left to waste. There were no rifle deer seasons open during this timeframe.

Fatal Crash on Interstate 5-Douglas County- 10/05/21

On Monday, October 4, 2021 at approximately 9:46 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near milepost 122.

Preliminary investigation revealed a southbound Ford F150, operated by Thomas Kelly (74) of Canyonville, left the roadway for an unknown reason, struck the embankment and rolled. 

Kelly sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

OSP was assisted by ODOT. 

Fatal Crash on Hwy 20-Malheur County- 10/04/21

On Saturday, October 2, 2021 at approximately 3:17 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 20 near milepost 252. 

Preliminary investigation revealed Hyundai Sonata, operated by Scott Barr Jr. (33) of Houston, Texas, was westbound when left the roadway, rolled and struck a tree. 

Barr sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

OSP was assisted by Vale Ambulance, Ontario Fire Department and ODOT. 

Fatal Crash on Hwy 7-Baker County- 10/04/21

On Friday, October 1, 2021 at approximately 4:07 PM, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle crash involving two motorcycles on Hwy 7 near milepost 34. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a Honda VTX1800, operated by David Anderson IV (35) of Gig Harbor, Washington and an Indian Roadster, operated by David Anderson III (65) of Gig Harbor, Washington were northbound and both failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. Witnesses confirmed the motorcycles did not strike each other. 

Anderson IV sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Anderson III was transported via Life Flight to the hospital. 

OSP was assisted by Baker County Fire Department, Baker County Sheriff’s Department, Life Flight and ODOT. 

Fatal Crash on Hwy 11-Umatilla County- 09/30/21

On September 30, 2021 at approximately 6:20 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 11 near milepost 35. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a northbound Cadillac Deville, operated by Victor Santana-Torres (23) of Milton-Freewater, drifted into the oncoming lane and struck a Transit Van, operated by Bradley Varvell (55) of Walla Walla, Washington. 

Santana-Torres sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Varvell was transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington with serious injuries. 

Highway 11 southbound traffic was closed for approximately 4 hours. Driver fatigue is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash.

OSP was assisted by Milton-Freewater Police Department, Milton-Freewater Rural Fire Department and ODOT.

Oregon State Police is seeking public assistance with information regarding an injured person- Sherman County (Photo)- 09/27/21

On September 25, 2021, at approximately 11:58 A.M., OSP  received a 911 call for a welfare check of a subject lying face down in the gravel in front of his silver 2015 Ford F350 crew cab pulling his 2019 Keystone Cougar travel trailer.  OSP Troopers found a truck and trailer matching that description on I-84 exit 109 westbound parked at the bottom of the off-ramp.  

OSP Troopers made contact with the driver, who was now behind the wheel of the truck and unresponsive. The driver was identified as Derek Martell (38). Derek Martell had severe head trauma and was life-flighted to an area hospital for treatment.   Derek Martell was returning home to Veneta, Oregon from an Elk hunting trip in Eastern Oregon with friends. Photos are of Derek Martell, his truck, and his camper. 

OSP Troopers found out that Derek spoke to his wife at 11:30 A.M. and there were no reported issues. The 911 call was received 28 minutes later. Troopers located Derek at 12:26 P.M. and requested EMS at 12:27 P.M.

Update- Fatal Motorcycle crash on Hwy 126- Lane County- 09/27/21

Update- Deceased name Karl Rudolph Klassen (60) of Springfield, Oregon.

On September 25, 2021, at about 2:19 P.M., Oregon State Police Trooper and emergency personnel responded to the report of a crash involving two motorcycles on Hwy 126 E near milepost 13, east of Mackenzie Bridge.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a blue 1993 BMW K11 motorcycle, operated by Karl Rudolph Klassen (60) of Springfield, Oregon was traveling eastbound on 126E and entered into the oncoming lane of travel, possibly to pass other motorists. A second motorcycle, a maroon 2014 Harley-Davison, operated by Michael Brad Siegel (68) of Tucson, Arizona was making a left-hand turn onto a forest service road when it was T-boned by the blue BMW. Life-saving measures were taken by medical personnel that happen to be in the area, but Klassen suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Siegel was life-flighted to the Riverbend Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. Siegel was interviewed at the hospital later that night and confirmed what the evidence at the scene had shown. He is in the ICU but expected to survive.   

Fatal Crash on Interstate 5-Marion County- 09/26/21

On September 25, 2021 at approximately 2:50 PM, Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a multi-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 5 near milepost 277.

Preliminary investigation revealed a Freightliner CMV operated by Long Kim Phan (57) of Portland, was traveling northbound when the CMV rear-ended a Subaru wagon operated by Caitlin Dutterer (37) of Salem, who was slowing for heavy traffic ahead. The initial collision caused a chain reaction crash involving a Ford pickup, operated by Ricardo Guzman-Garcia (39) of Bend, a Honda CRV operated by Anissa Teslow (36) of Philomath, a Cadillac XTS SUV operated by James Tier (74) of Redmond and a Chevrolet Suburban towing a boat operated by Carl Parker (53) of Dallas. 

A passenger in the Subaru wagon, Andrew Dutterer (43) of Salem, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. The other involved operators along with multiple passengers were transported to local area hospitals with minor injuries. 

Interstate 5 northbound was closed for approximately 4.5 hours. 

OSP was assisted by Woodburn Fire and Ambulance, Marion County Fire and Medics and ODOT.

Fatal Crash on Highway 20-Malheur County- 09/24/21

On September 23, 2021 at approximately 10:47 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 20 near milepost 181. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a westbound Hyundai Santa Fe, operated by John Lawrence (51) of Bend, traveled off the westbound shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree. 

Lawrence sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Hwy 20 was partially closed for 3 hours.

OSP Troopers initiates a High-Risk traffic stop after Road Rage incident- Lane County (Photo)- 09/24/21

On September 23, 2021, at approximately 4:09 P.M., members of the Oregon State Police Springfield Area Command received a menacing complaint on I-5, near milepost 189.  Troopers were advised that two vehicles were involved in a road rage incident and one of the motorists pointed a firearm at the victim vehicle during the incident.  Troopers were able to stop the vehicle on I-5 NB near milepost 205, where a high-risk stop was initiated.   The subject was taken into custody without incident.

The driver was identified as Roger Dale Brown Jr. (39) from Gresham, Oregon. 
The driver was found to be a convicted felon.  During a search of the vehicle, Troopers located four more weapons, two 45cal semi-auto pistols, a 308cal SCAR Assault rifle, and a pistol style AK47 with a 75-round drum.  All weapons were loaded with bullets in the chambers and a heavy ballistic vest with rifle-rated plates in it.  There was also a seizure of approximately $60,000.  The suspect was ultimately arrested and transported to Lane County Jail where he was lodged for Menacing, Unlawful Use of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm (X5), Felon in Possession of Body Armor, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

OSP is seeking public assistance with a shooting investigation- Curry County (Photo)- 09/23/21

On September 19, 2021, at approximately 6:03 P.M, a motorcyclist was shot by an occupant of a passing vehicle.  The shooting occurred on Highway 101 near milepost 289 south of Langlois, Oregon.  Both the motorcycle and suspect vehicle were traveling southbound.  The suspect vehicle is a black four-door hatchback, possibly a Volkswagen.  The attached photos are of the actual suspect vehicle.  

The suspect vehicle had at least two occupants, a male, and a female, both estimated to be in their 20’s or 30’s.  The male suspect is described as tall and thin with short dark hair and a dark complexion.  The female suspect is described as white with short hair with pink or purple highlights.

Fatal Crash on Interstate 84-Baker County- 09/23/21

On September 23, 2021 at approximately 2:14 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a Commercial Motor Vehicle crash on Interstate 84 near milepost 318.

Preliminary investigation revealed a Freightliner CMV pulling a set of double trailers, operated by William Frakes (49) of Nampa, ID was westbound when it left the roadway and overturned. 

Frakes sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.

One lane of I-84 westbound is still currently closed. 

OSP was assisted by Baker County Sheriff’s Department and ODOT.

Oregon State Police is requesting public assistance with this case.  OSP is releasing a video of three vehicles that were in the area near the time of a fatal hit and run crash that killed bicyclist Geoffry Sterling (44) of Ashland. On Sunday, September 19, 2021, at approximately 9:53 PM, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a vehicle vs bicyclist on Highway 99 near West Valley View Road in Talent. 

Preliminary investigation revealed that a driver of a vehicle struck a bicycle, being ridden by Geoffry Sterling (44) of Ashland. The involved vehicle did not stay at the scene. 

Sterling sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

Northbound traffic on Highway 99 was closed for approximately 3 hours.

OSP was assisted on scene by Jackson County Fire, Talent PD, Phoenix PD, and ODOT.

Fatal Crash on Hwy 36-Lane County- 09/22/21

On Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at approximately 4:27 PM, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 36 near milepost 48.

Preliminary investigation revealed a Polaris ATV, operated by Robert Nelson (88) of Junction City was crossing Hwy 36 and was struck by a Honda Motorcycle, operated by Jesse Hayworth (34) of Springfield. 

Hayworth sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Nelson and his passenger, Marjorie Nelson (87) were transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend with injuries. 

Hwy 36 was closed for approximately 3 hours. 

OSP was assisted by Junction City Police Department, Junction City Fire and ODOT. 

Fatal Crash on Hwy 212-Clackamas County- 09/21/21

On Monday, September 20, 2021 at approximately 12:45 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 212 near milepost 5. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a Ford Focus, operated by an unidentified female, was eastbound when it crossed into the westbound lane and struck a Dodge Ram 1500, operated by Cameron Ellet (19) of Boring. 

The unidentified operator of the Ford Focus sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.  Ellet was wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. 

Hwy 212 was closed for approximately 3.5 hours.

OSP was assisted by Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, AMR and ODOT. 

Fatal Crash on Hwy 164-Marion County- 09/20/21

On Monday, September 20, 2021 at approximately 11:28 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single motor vehicle crash on Hwy 164 near milepost 1. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a Nissan Frontier, operated by Michelle Duclos (58) of Jefferson, was northbound when it left the roadway and struck a cement bridge abutment. 

Duclos sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Hwy 164 was closed for approximately 3.5 hours. 

OSP was assisted by Jefferson Fire Department and ODOT. 

Fatal Crash on Hwy 126W-Lane County- 09/20/21

On Monday, September 20, 2021 at approximately 7:14 AM, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a four-vehicle crash on Hwy 126W near milepost 37. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a Kenworth log truck, operated by Shane McVay (64) of Eugene, was eastbound when the loaded trailer tipped over. The trailer struck a westbound Toyota Prius, operated by Sarah Susman (25) of Springfield and a Dodge Ram towing a boat, operated by Randall Tokich (70) of Eugene. The Dodge Ram then struck an eastbound Ford Mustang, operated by Jordyn Tippett (20) of Coquille.

Susman sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. McVay and Tippett were transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend with injuries. Tokich had minor injuries. 

Hwy 126W is still currently closed. 

OSP was assisted by Lane County Sheriff’s Office and ODOT.

OSP Fish & Wildlife cite poacher for unlawful take of a Bull Elk- Douglas County (Photo)- 09/20/21

On September 2, 2021, Sr. Trooper Baimbridge responded to a report of a dead bull elk in the 2800 Block of Mehl Creek Road, Elkton, Oregon.  The bull had the head removed and the meat removed.  The elk had been shot by a rifle during the bow season.  The investigation revealed that Jase Billman (20) shot the bull from the roadway with a .270 caliber rifle then enlisted the help of 3 friends and family to pack it out.  Jase was issued a citation for Unlawful Take of Bull Elk and his rifle was seized along with the antlers and meat from the bull. The meat was able to be salvaged. Two other individuals were issued citations for Aiding in a Wildlife Offense.

Deadly crash with Tesla vehicle on auto pilot

Driver arrested for DUI after causing 8-car collision in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A suspected drunk driver caused an eight-vehicle pileup after slamming their pickup into a vehicle at a stoplight Saturday evening.

Police say the driver hit the car at the intersection of South Academy and Airport Road, triggering a domino-effect crash as one vehicle after another collided. Despite the number of people involved, only two suffered injuries severe enough to require treatment at a hospital. Police say both are expected to recover.

South Academy was completely shut down between Airport Road and Wentworth Drive for more than three hours, reopening shortly before 11 p.m..

The driver who caused the crash was arrested for DUI. They have not been identified at the time of this writing.

*Editor’s note: Police originally said this was a seven-vehicle crash but have since updated the number to eight.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back was started by the Drug Enforcement Administration to getunused or outdated drugs out of homes to they cannot be misused or abused. Studies have shown that that many abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends and/or often flush themdown the toilet or throw them away.

In April, residents disposed of nearly 265 pounds of unwanted, unused or outdated prescriptionmedications at our spring Drug Take Back event.

Items that cannot be accepted at the Drug Take-Back are needles and sharps, mercury thermometers,oxygen containers, chemotherapy/radioactive substances, pressurized canisters and illicit drugs.
