Other Things to Note

Here are a few extra things to consider when organising your trip to Palm Springs.

COVID 19 Update

The City of Palm Springs, and the State of California, had a moratorium on vacation rentals, home-shares, and hotels and did not allow places to operate up until April 30, 2020.

However, Airbnbs in Palm Springs can operate after this date. Many places have noted their dedication to additional cleaning.

Taxes and Additional Costs

Since January 1, 2002 a transient of 12% has been implemented in Palm Springs for hotels and rental properties.

For some venues, they have included in the advertised price. Others will add it to the price when you go to book.

Many of the places mentioned above are dog friendly, however, do charge additional fees for having the pets on the property (between 50$ to $100 per night depending on the location).

Many of the properties listed above are in residential areas and have noise restrictions from 10 pm to 8 am. These properties mention noise specifically. They also note that noise complaints that are called into the police can come with a $500 fine.

Minimum Booking Age

A few of the properties specifically note that the minimum age for the primary guest (one who books) is 25. This is for insurance purposes.

Wayne’s World Private Casita

This may not be one of the largest Palm Springs Airbnbs out there, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in comfort and value. Found in the Warm Sands neighborhood of Palm Springs, a short distance from Downtown, you can comfortably walk to the most popular food and nightlife spots. That said, there are also quality local restaurants, bars, and coffee shops closer by as well.

Despite its studio layout, this casita can actually fit up to four adults thanks to its two double beds. Mind you, the guest suite is all one space, so there won’t be much privacy from your travel companions. The casita also provides a living area with a sofa and a coffee table, a full bathroom, and a kitchen area, equipped with a stove, microwave, and fridge. That way you can prepare basic meals for yourselves while you stay here.

While small on the inside, there’s really no shortage of space outside thanks to a private patio area and backyard. This is where you’ll find the saltwater pool, jacuzzi, and BBQ grill which are all at your disposal. Other amenities include Wi-Fi, cable TV, and air-conditioning.

Palm Springs is a glamorous city where historic homes with butterfly roofs and swimming pools reign supreme.

Located about two hours east of LA, Palm Springs has long been a hub for celebrities and snowbirds because of its desirable wintertime dry heat and palm tree-lined streets. Of course, the fact that it has a vibrant arts scene, impressive golf courses and clubs, and nearby natural hot springs doesn’t hurt, either.

When searching for an airbnb in Palm Springs, opt for a rental that emulates the area’s unique mid-century modern architecture. Since the 1950s, massive sliding glass doors, bright colors, clean lines, and in-ground swimming pools have been commonplace amenities. Because it does get pretty darn hot in the desert, take a look at the list below to find the best Palm Springs airbnbs with pools.
