Delicately try to open your keyless entry remote with pry tools. Change CR2025 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old battery with fresh one CR2025. Be sure to connect the battery the right way around in a circuit. Your key will not work if you put battery wrong way.
Before assembling fob’s case, check that all functions works by testing buttons on key fob.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Delicately try to assemble the pieces together by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your remote key fob shell for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step.

Free Key Fob Remote Programming Instructions for a 2014 Nissan Sentra
Time needed: 5 minutes.
- Close and Lock Doors
CLOSE and LOCK all doors with the Driver’s Side Power Lock/Unlock Switch.
- Insert Key 6X
INSERT key into Ignition and REMOVE it 6 times in 10 seconds (Do NOT Turn). The Hazard Lamps will FLASH to indicate successful entry into Programming Mode.
- Insert Key
INSERT key into Ignition and TURN to the ACC position.
- Program First Remote
WITHIN 5 seconds, PRESS the LOCK button on the first remote to be programmed. The Hazard Lamps will FLASH to indicate successful programming of the remote.
- Program Second Remote
For any additional remotes to be programmed — UNLOCK and then LOCK all doors using the Driver’s Side Power Lock/Unlock Switch. WITHIN 5 seconds, PRESS the LOCK button on the next remote to be programmed. The Hazard Lamps will FLASH to indicate successful programming of the remote.
- Program Additional Remotes
REPEAT Step 5 for any additional remotes to be programmed to your vehicle.
- EXIT Programming Mode
TURN the key to the OFF position, REMOVE key from the Ignition and UNLOCK doors using the Driver’s Side Power Lock/Unlock Switch and OPEN the Driver’s side door to FINALIZE programming.
- Test Remotes
TEST all remotes. Programming is complete.

The tools required to access and replace the battery include a small Phillips head screwdriver and a small flathead screwdriver.
To test the new key fob battery, stand near your Sentra and press the "Unlock" or "Lock" buttons.
If the new battery is working properly, you should see the parking lights flash and hear the door locks opening or closing.
Be sure to record the battery change in your vehicle's service records.
