They are unable to distinguish between nursing staff, who are paid for every hour worked, and compensated for shifts, overtime and working weekends, and administrative staff who are expected to work whenever. There are no paid holidays. If you subtract the usual federal holidays from the starting PTO, you are getting 2 weeks of vacation which has to accrue before you can take time off, AND that cannot be banked over 100 hours. The medical benefits suck. You'd think working for a medical organization would at least get you good medical..you'd be wrong.
MSHA was a good place to work, but the merger was NOT good for the staff. The management style has become negative and threatening. The employees have left in droves. HR does not schedule exit interviews because they do not want to hear about the issues. As an exiting employee, you have to REQUEST an exit interview.
It's very sad, as MSHA, it was a great place to work. The benefits were still awful, but the management was nice and tried hard to do the right things by people. With excellent management, the poor benefits, the low pay, were easy to ignore. Not any more.
