4th line free t mobile

4th line free t mobile DEFAULT

T-Mobile is ready to throw free lines at (almost) everybody for the first time in 2021

This is not a drill. We repeat, this is not a drill. The time has (almost) come for T-Mobile's first "proper" free line promotion of 2021, following in the footsteps of not one, not two and not three but a grand total of four similar deals from 2020, the last of which debuted just in time for Christmas.
According toa very well-connected inside sourcethat's practically never wrong about these types of things, both new and existing T-Mo customers will once again be able to score gratis lines of wireless service starting tomorrow, March 17 without jumping through too many hoops or meeting all kinds of special conditions.

At first glance, the hot new offer, somewhat confusingly named "2021 Line On Us P6", may also look identical to the "2021 Buy One, Get One Voice Add a Line for Existing Customers" promo inaugurated less than a couple of weeks ago. But as the latter's fitting (albeit overlong) moniker suggests, there are a few key differences to note.

BOGO begone!

Because there is such a thing as too many (similar) deals, Magenta is reportedly gearing up to put an end to the BOGO (buy one get one) line offer today, essentially replacing it with the P6 Line On Us promotion instantly.

The main new eligibility requirement is having at least two paid lines on your T-Mobileaccount, in which case all you need to do is ask the "Un-carrier" for a complimentary third... or fourth, or fifth, or 12th voice line beginning March 17.

The beauty of these deals is their stackable nature, which means some of you may have reached an impressive number of free lines on your accounts without doing (or paying) much. If you paid enough attention to T-Mo's promotional periods last year, this could easily become your fifth line of service available at no monthly cost whatsoever.

As usual, a number of restrictions and limitations are set to apply here, the most notable of which partially excludes new customers opening their accounts by paying for two lines and existing owners of single line accounts looking to get a second paid line. If you're in one of those two situations, you'll need three paid lines to qualify for a fourth free of charge, which is certainly a little inconvenient but at least doesn't require everyone to buy a new line in order to get another one free.

The relatively straightforward terms and conditions

While the full and detailed terms of the new deal are naturally still under wraps at the time of this writing, we pretty much know for sure already that those on Military, 55+, and First Responder accounts will be left out... yet again.

Another important limitation concerns rate plans that have hit their maximum number of allowed lines. That varies depending on the type of plan you're currently subscribed to, but for business users, who are not entirely excluded, the limit is set at 13 across the board.

Impressively, 2021's first free line promo for new and existing T-Mobile customers can also be combined with several other deals available right now, including Carrier Freedom, Keep and Switch, and Zero Cost to Switch in addition to all of last year's similar aforementioned offers.

After claiming yet another complimentary voice line, your savings will be applied to your account in the form of bill credits starting within two cycles from activation. To continue receiving said credits, you'll need to maintain the same number of voice lines on your account that were active at the time of your enrollment for one year. Afterwards, you will still have to keep at least two paid voice lines and the free new line active for T-Mo to keep the discount going.

All in all, it's quite simple to maximize your savings... once again, and never think twice about leaving Magenta for a "traditional" carrier like Verizon or AT&T that almost never offers this sort of straightforward discount with so few strings attached.

T-Mobile is joining the list of companies with deals for back-to-school. It's introducing a few new offers for new users.

For family plans, the carrier is introducing a new deal that offers "half off" lines three to eight of a family plan. That means that the cheapest Essentials unlimited plan would run $97.50 a month (not including taxes or fees) for three lines, or $105 for four lines (each additional line is $7.50).

Get the CNET Mobile newsletter

Find the best phones, apps and accessories with our CNET Mobile newsletter. Delivered Tuesdays and Thursdays.

T-Mobile's step-up Magenta plan -- which adds Netflix Basic (the non-HD version of Netflix), international data and includes taxes and fees in the price -- would be $130 for three lines or $140 for four lines (each additional line is $10 a line). The company's top plan, Magenta Max -- which includes Netflix's Standard plan, 40GB of high-speed hotspot data, 4K streaming and faster international data -- would be $160 for three lines, or $170 for four lines (each additional line is $15 a line).

T-Mobile says this new deal will be available to both new and existing customers, though for the latter you will need to add a new line to your account to get the discount. Only the new added line would be discounted, however, so if you're on a family plan with four existing lines, just the new fifth line would be cheaper. You would not get a new, lower rate for lines three and four.

The carrier's previous promotion offered a "third line free" with any of its three unlimited plans. That offer ended on July 23 with this new half-off deal taking its place the same day.

A free iPhone 12... if you go for Magenta Max

In addition to the new half-off plan offer the carrier is also adding a new promotion to get people onto its highest tier Magenta Max plan, dangling the prospect of a free iPhone 12 when trading in an "eligible phone."

Like the plan deal, this offer will be available to both new and existing customers with up to the $830 price of the iPhone 12 64GB distributed back to you through monthly bill credits. If you want a pricier phone, like an iPhone 12 Pro or Pro Max, it will apply your credits towards the cost of that device.

Eligible phones for the full $830 off include the iPhone X or later, the Samsung Galaxy S20 (or later), Note 10 (or later), Z Flip 5G and Z Fold 2. There's also the Motorola Razr 5G and the OnePlus 8 5G and 8T 5G.

If you have an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus, or if you have an Android phone such as the Galaxy S9, S10 or Note 9 or Google Pixel 4 and 4A line, you can save $730 on an iPhone 12. You can save $530 if you trade in an iPhone 7, 7 Plus or a 2020 iPhone SE (or if you trade in an LG Velvet). If you have an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S or 6S Plus you can save $380.

T-Mobile is also offering $380 in savings if you trade in a variety of Android phones including the Samsung Galaxy S7, S8, Note 5 and Note 8 (or one of their variants); Pixel 2, 3 or 3A (or one of their variants) and OnePlus 5, 5T, 6, 6T and 7 Pro.

In addition to being on the Magenta Max plan, any phones being traded need to be in "good condition." You can find a full list or check to see how much your phone will get at T-Mobile's trade-in site.

As with the new plan deal, the iPhone 12 offer will start on Friday. T-Mobile says both promotions will run for a "limited time" though as with most of its deals the carrier has yet to provide an exact end date.

Correction, Aug. 3: T-Mobile has clarified that its half-off family discount will require existing users to add a line to their accounts. The story has been updated.

Go Back to School and Everything Else with T‑Mobile: Get iPhone 12 On Us and 50% Off Family Lines

BELLEVUE, Wash. — July 20, 2021 — Last school year was a long, wild ride for teachers, students and families nationwide. This year, T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) is helping everyone get back to everything, launching new back to school deals — for both new and existing customers — this Friday, July 23.

  • Get an iPhone 12 (or up to four!) on Us (or $830 off any iPhone 12 series) with 24 monthly bill credits when you trade in an eligible phone on Magenta MAX — T-Mobile’s best 5G plan that can’t slow you down based on how much data you use.
  • Get half off family lines (lines 3-8) on T-Mobile’s latest plans (Essentials, Magenta, Magenta MAX). That means adding a line with unlimited talk, text and data, including 5G, starts at less than $10 per month!

And because everyone could use some good news, T-Mobile is continuing its long-standing support of education by donating $1 million to support teachers through DonorsChoose, which goes directly towards helping them purchase critical classroom supplies. That’s on top of T-Mobile’s #CleartheList campaign, now three years in the running, to support teachers, and an over $1 million from T-Mobile and partners to DonorsChoose as part of the company’s #GiveThanksNotPranks campaign. To keep the good news rolling, T-Mobile’s Project 10Million — the $10.7 billion initiative offering free internet and free mobile hotspots to eligible households across the U.S. — is kicking off its second full school year to help close the digital divide for up to 10 million families.

“Back to school is special this year. It represents getting back to so much more that we’ve missed after a really trying year for families, teachers and students,” said Jon Freier, EVP of T-Mobile’s Consumer Group. “That’s why T-Mobile is going big here to help everyone stay connected with America’s largest, fastest and most reliable 5G network.”

“This coming school year might be the most important of our generation, and teachers will need all the encouragement we can give them as so many return to classrooms,” said Charles Best, founder of DonorsChoose. “T-Mobile’s gift to teachers will help students start the year strong and support them during a time of readjustment.”

Back in Class with Best-in-Class Benefits
As America’s 5G Leader, T-Mobile is here to help everyone stay connected. T-Mobile’s Extended Range 5G covers 300 million people across 1.6 million square miles — that’s nearly 2x more coverage than AT&T and 4x more than Verizon. Plus, with Sprint now part of T-Mobile, the Un-carrier is widening its lead, lighting up Ultra Capacity 5G across the country and bringing fast 5G speeds to more places than anyone else. Ultra Capacity 5G can deliver average speeds of 325 Mbps with peaks of 1 Gbps, and now covers 150 million people.

Pair ALL. THAT. 5G. with Magenta MAX, T-Mobile’s unlimited plan that can’t ever slow you down based on how much data you use — and students, teachers and families can study more, stream more, watch more and listen more than ever. Plus Magenta MAX comes with Netflix on Us, taxes and fees included, the most awarded customer care in wireless with a dedicated Team of Experts, weekly free stuff and discounts from T-Mobile Tuesdays, exclusive discounts on accommodations and rental cars with T-Mobile TRAVEL, an unparalleled set of free tools to protect from scams and unwanted robocalls with Scam Shield, and 40GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data. And of course, unlimited talk, text and 5G smartphone data included at no extra charge.

T-Mobile offering “3rd Line Free” promotion to customers

t-mobile-offering-3rd-line-free-promotion

T-Mobile is currently running a new promotion called “3rd Line Free.”

Starting today, T-Mo is giving away a third line of wireless service at no extra charge. This offer is available for both new and existing customers. New customers, however, have to activate at least three voice lines at the same time so they can get the third line for free.

The good thing about this offer is that you can combine it with the other deals that T-Mo is running. This way, you can get further savings on your plan purchase.

The promotion was revealed via Reddit, where some users have asked certain questions about the offer. If you are interested to learn more, you can call T-Mobile’s customer service hotline.

T-Mobile is offering a free voice line for both new and existing customers! This is the 6th time T-Mobile has offered this deal. The free line is available on most plans, but there are some that’s excluded (more details on that below).

This latest offer will start on March 17 so I’ll update this post as more details come in.

T-Mobile Free Voice Line Offer

Similar to a deal Sprint customers are getting, T-Mobile is offering new and existing customers a free voice line! The deal will go live starting on March 17, 2021 in stores and online.

This is absolutely bananas. Personally, I now have 10 voice lines, but only paying for 2 of them. The rest were free from these T-Mobile free line promos!

Ninja Update 3/17/21: Website is not showing promotion, but it’s active. If you add a line online, it will be free provided you have an eligible plan listed below. If you’re not comfortable with this, customers will be able to get a free voice line in store or via T-Force (T-Force is T-Mobile’s social media team on Twitter). You can also call 1-800-937-8997 or text 611 and reference “2021 Line On Us P6”.

New T-Mobile Customers

New T-Mobile customers that activate 2 voice lines will get another voice line for free.

Existing T-Mobile Customers

As long as you have 2 paid voice lines on a qualifying plan, you’re eligible to add another voice line for free.

What’s a voice line?

T-Mobile, like other carriers, offers different types of lines:

  • Voice lines: phone with a number and an associated mobile data plan (this is what this promo offers – you’re adding a line to your account that gets the same features of your account plan)
  • Mobile Internet lines: tablets and hotspots used for internet (no phone number associated with the service)
  • Wearable lines: smart watches with data capabilities (no phone number associated with the service)

The other stipulation is if you’ve canceled a line in your account in the past 90 days, you won’t be eligible.

Qualifying Plans

Generally, these are the qualifying T-Mobile plans that’s eligible for this free line promo:

  • Simple Choice
  • Magenta
  • Magenta Plus
  • Magenta Amplified Family Plan
  • Essentials
  • One
  • One Plus
  • One Amplified Family Plan

The discounted plans below don’t qualify for this offer:

  • Select Choice
  • Military
  • First Responder
  • 55+

Now, I did say those are generally the plans that qualify and don’t qualify.

To make a long story short, each T-Mobile account has a specific plan code, called a SOC Code. You need to see if your specific SOC Code matches one from this list. If it does, then your plan is 100% eligible for this promotion.

How To Find Your T-Mobile SOC Code

  1. Open the Developer tools panel on the right (Ctrl+Shift+I) on Chrome
  2. Click on Network tab
  3. Click on XHR tab
  4. Log in my.t-Mobile.com and click Account at the top.
  5. In developer tools panel, choose manageaccount from the list on the left
  6. Rate plan appears under ratePlans

Stackable With Other T-Mobile Deals

What makes this free voice line a very hot deal is the fact that you’re able to combine this with other T-Mobile phone offers! For example, you can stack this with current phone deals like:

Free Phone Offers

Don’t want to pay for phone? There are free phones available when you add a line (which you’re already doing for free with this deal), like the Samsung Galaxy A11, Motorola moto g play, and LG K51.

Trade-In Phone Offers

Currently on their web site, T-Mobile is offering a free Samsung Galaxy S21 through billing credits when trading in select phones.

50% Phone Deals

T-Mobile also has a limited-time offer of 50% off an Apple iPhone 11 when you add a line.

The strategy for them here is to get additional revenue through your monthly service to offset the money they lost from giving you an iPhone for half its retail price. Well, with the free voice line deal, you’re making out big.

You’re adding the line free and getting an expensive iPhone model for 50% off!

T-Mobile 50% off iPhone XS promotion

Not an iPhone person? Other phones you can get 50% off include models like the LG Velvet 5G.

Ninja Note 12/20/20: This free line deal will not stack with the following phone promotions:

  • N/A (for the March 17, 2021 free line deal, all phone offers are valid)

Do not attempt to get one of the ineligible phone promos with the free line. The system will default to giving you the phone promo instead of the free line and you’ll be stuck with a regular paid line. To clarify, if you purchase a phone on EIP on the free line that would normally qualify you for a phone promo listed above, it will force the phone promo over the free line. This basically prevents you from adding any of the phones above to the free line.

$250 Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Deals

This one is aimed specifically for Verizon and AT&T subscribers. If you port your number and use your existing phone, T-Mobile will pay you an additional $250!

Technically, you don’t even need to be a Verizon or AT&T customer either. As long as you have a phone you currently don’t use with T-Mobile, you can basically buy a Verizon/AT&T number to port in.

The latest promo code for this is “2020BYOD1” (valid between 9/18/20 – 10/1/20). For more details, you can check our post on this.

The Bottom Line

This is an extremely rare no-stipulation free line (like the free line offered back in 2016), although it does appear that T-Mobile is offering this quite a bit in the past 12 months. The dates below show all the times that this free line promo became available:

  • June 26, 2020
  • September 18, 2020
  • December 20, 2020
  • March 17, 2021

There have been promotions like this in the past, but T-Mobile usually requires existing customers to add a new paid voice line in order to get one free. This offer is much more generous. It is truly free if you are eligible. Keep in mind you still need to pay government-imposed taxes on the free line, but it only comes out to a few dollars a month.

There’s a great FAQ of this deal on Reddit if you want to see more information on how others are taking advantage of this deal.
