Get the Best Priced Nissan Versa Parts
"Nissan Versa" is the name applied to four different models manufactured between 2006 and the present. Two of them, a sedan and a hatchback, were known as the Tida. Those models had been discontinued by 2012 and 2013 respectively, and were replaced by the Latio and the Note. Today's Versa has a sticker price of just under $13,000 - but it's hardly a bargain. Car and Driver magazine gives the vehicle only one-and-a-half stars. The review says, "If you want a cheap new car, here it is; if you like to drive, keep shopping." As the old adage says, you get what you pay for.
On the up side, there's lots of room inside; even the back seat will carry two full-grown adults in relative comfort. Bluetooth connectivity is standard, as is air conditioning and a radio/CD player. On the down side, there are a lot of cheap, low-quality materials used for the interior.
It is also very fuel efficent; at 40 miles per gallon on the highway, it actually does better than the gas-sipping BMW Mini. However, the noisy 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine is rated at a mere 109 horsepower - it doesn't get from zero to sixty all that quickly. However, it is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, which ups the fun factor at least a little. Generally however, performance and handling is ho-hum at best. The suspension leaves something to be desired; consumer reports indicate that the coil spring has a tendency to break on 2009 models, right around 70,000 miles. Some who have owned the a Nissan Versa say that it is like driving a case of eggs. Japanese vehicles may have a reputation for quality, but according to what many consumers are saying, this particular apple fells very far from that tree.
Some who have owned the a Nissan Versa say that it is like driving a case of eggs. Japanese vehicles may have a reputation for quality, but according to what many consumers are saying, this particular apple fells very far from that tree. If you are looking for an inexpensive used vehicle and don't have terribly high expectations, chances are that a Versa may meet your transportation needs adequately. If, on the other hand, you're seeking a bit more in a vehicle, many of its competitors offer more at a sticker price that isn't that much higher.
And if you have one, what can be done? Some Nissan Versa performance parts are available that may help to improve performance a bit. When it comes to Nissan Versa parts, 2014 is a model year that could prove expensive to the unwary; several owners have reported transmission failure at just short of 81,000 miles. You'll shell out over $3,100 for such a fix, but ordering parts online from a supplier such as PartsGeek.com can save you a bundle.

2018.5 Update: Beginning in spring 2018, all Versa Sedan grades add RearView Monitor and an upgraded audio system as standard equipment. The new audio system includes a 7.0-inch color touchscreen, Streaming audio via Bluetooth®, Siri® Eyes Free, AM/FM audio system with four speakers and USB connection port for iPod® and other compatible devices plus an Aux-in port.
The 2018 Nissan Versa Sedan again offers high value, exceptional roominess and mid-size vehicle technology without a mid-size price. For the new model year, Versa Sedan adds standard adjustable front headrests, map lamps and variable intermittent windshield wipers for all grades, along with one new exterior color – Deep Blue Pearl. For 2018, Versa Sedan is offered in three well-equipped models: Versa Sedan S, Versa Sedan S Plus and Versa Sedan SV.
The popular Versa SV Special Edition, introduced in 2017, continues in 2018 as the only available option. The SV Special Edition Package includes 15-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, fog lights, front fascia chrome accents, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Piano Black console lid and Special Edition emblem.
Versa is also offered in a five-door hatchback model, the Versa Note (for full details, please visit www.nissannews.com)
A Stylish Exterior Design and Roomy, Refined Interior
The Versa Sedan exterior is highlighted by its bold front end treatment anchored by large headlights, substantial looking fascia and standard chrome plating on the grille. The result is a strong, contemporary presence with efficient dimensions and packaging – along with strong family ties to the popular Nissan Sentra and Altima sedans.
The list of standard exterior features includes body-color front and rear fascias, chrome-accented multi-reflector halogen headlights, body-color power outside mirrors and short rod-type fixed roof antenna. Available features, depending on grade level, include front fog lights and chrome door handles. Smart aerodynamic engineering helps create a coefficient of drag of just 0.29 (Xtronic-equipped models), which aids in the Versa Sedan's impressive real-world fuel economy.
The 2018 Versa Sedan is offered in six exterior colors: Cayenne Red, Gun Metallic, Super Black, Brilliant Silver, Fresh Powder and new Deep Blue Pearl.
Inside, Versa Sedan offers five-passenger practicality with a high degree of comfort and refinement – the perfect combination for commuting on weekdays, running errands on weekends and transporting family and friends all week long.
Key interior features include a 7.0-inch color touchscreen, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System and Streaming audio via Bluetooth® with steering wheel controls, RearView Monitor, Siri® Eyes Free, AM/FM audio system with four speakers and USB connection port for iPod® and other compatible devices, Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant and assist grips and passenger-side vanity mirror. Versa Sedan SV adds a meter display with white LED illumination, outside temperature display, driver armrest, chrome exterior door handles, and silver finishers on the center instrument panel cluster.
All Versa Sedan models feature a roomy interior volume of 90.2 cubic feet, with more rear legroom than many mid-size sedans. Trunk volume measures 14.9 cubic feet. The trunk design itself focuses on useable space, taking into consideration everything from the size of the hinges to the shape of the sidewalls. A 60/40-split fold-down rear seat is standard on SV models for even greater cargo versatility. One interior color is offered, Charcoal.
Other available interior features include speed-sensing auto door locks and remote trunk release lever.
Advanced Engine Technology and an Efficient V-Platform
The 2018 Versa Sedan utilizes Nissan's global lightweight "V" platform and is powered by a 1.6-liter HR16DE 4-cylinder engine rated at 109 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 107 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. The engine features a range of fuel efficiency enhancing technologies, including a dual injector system that allows a wider injection of fuel than a traditional single-injection system. The smaller nozzles deliver a finer spray to help achieve stable combustion. The dual injector system also allows the use of around half the amount of rare metals in the catalyzer by reducing the amount of unburned fuel and hydrocarbon emissions.
The compact, lightweight engine also employs a twin Continuously Variable valve Timing Control System (CVTCS) mounted on intake and exhaust camshafts (versus conventional CVTC systems, which are mounted only on the intake camshaft). Using CVTCS on the exhaust camshaft increases thermal efficiency, decreases inhalation resistance and offers an approximate four percent improvement in fuel efficiency (over the previous engine design). The engine also includes a piston oiling jet, specially tuned piston top shape and expanded exhaust manifold diameter.
The 1.6-liter engine is matched with a choice of two transmissions – a 5-speed manual transmission or Xtronic transmission with D-mode step shift programming. The Xtronic design allows continuous change of the transmission gear ratio by connecting the two pulleys with a metallic belt and changing their diameter by using hydraulic pressure. It incorporates an auxiliary planetary gearbox to broaden the effective gear ratio, helping improve efficiency. The Xtronic transmission's gear ratio of 7.3:1 is broader than those of typical 7-speed automatic transmissions.
Fuel economy for the 2018 Versa Sedan is rated at 31 mpg city, 39 mpg highway and 34 mpg combined with the Xtronic transmission. Versa Sedan models equipped with the 5-speed manual offer 27 mpg city, 36 mpg highway and 30 mpg combined.
All Versa Sedan models are equipped with an independent MacPherson strut front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension, with front and rear stabilizer bars. The suspension dampers and electric power steering are tuned for a comfortable ride and improved handling. Other standard equipment includes power-assisted front disc/rear drum brakes, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist.
Versa S, S Plus and SV models are equipped with 15-inch steel wheels with covers and low rolling resistance 185/65R-15 all-season tires. Stylish 15-inch 6-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels are available with the SV Special Edition Package.
Standard safety features include the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) (includes dual-stage front supplemental air bags), seat-mounted driver and front passenger side-impact supplemental air bags, and roof-mounted curtain side-impact air bags for front and rear outboard occupant head protection.
Additional safety features include standard LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) system, child safety rear door locks, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Traction Control System (TCS).
Three Well-Equipped Models, One Option Package
The 2018 Nissan Versa Sedan is available in three well-equipped models – Versa Sedan S (5-speed manual), Versa Sedan S Plus (Xtronic only) and Versa Sedan SV (Xtronic only). Just one option is offered, the SV Special Edition Package.
The 2018 Versa Sedan is assembled at Nissan's Aguascalientes, Mexico assembly plant.
