"I’ve worked for the company since early 2019. The environment is very warm and welcoming, however there have been many abrupt changes to compensation across the company since going public."
"Greedy company that loves to act like it cares about its employees, but really they don’t. The CEO rather build faulty drive ins that fall on his employees cars and buy new buildings then pay his average worker a livable wage. He acts like he cares about us but he doesn’t. He rather raise responsibilities over and over then ever raise pay"
"I enjoyed working for United Wholesale Mortgage as a Senior Underwriter because I am very organized and detail oriented. However, I did not feel supported by leadership and encouraged to grow within my career."
"I have worked at UWM since January of 2021. It is a great company with tremendous growth potential for younger employees and the company facilities are absolutely phenomenal! It is a very different environment for me at UWM because you work more individually and it isn’t the usual plant environment I am used too. The company is fantastic but I am currently looking for something with better pay, better hours and something in a production environment which I relish."
"Overall the UWM Success Center Center was a great place to work. With the Covid 19 pandemic, the SSC moved all virtual which was a struggle especially for tutoring courses where drawing graphs and having face-to-face interaction is needed. The SSC did as well as they could to deal with the challenges and provided great communication throughout."
"I have worked for United Wholesale Mortgage for over 3 years now. I think it is a great company to get started at. They have a great culture and a good training program."
"UWM is a great company to start a career in the mortgage industry. They are willing to train people with no professional experience and turn them into experienced, successful underwriters. While most choose not to stay for their entire career, I would strongly recommend putting in 3-7 years at this company to gain experience. Overall, employees are treated well."
"UWM provides a family oriented culture. There are 6200 employees all working together on one campus with huge amenities. The training is top notch and sets one up for success in the company. Adaptive to employees needs and various circumstances. Encourages career growth promoting only from within. Fun place to work."
"I have worked with UWM over 4 years it has been a great experience and I would have loved to retire from this company, however, it is challenging and can sometimes be overwhelming, but at the end I wouldn’t trade the experience I had with this company."
"I've worked for UWM for over a year and found it to be a great place to getting your foot in the door when others would not give you a chance. They are willing to train for any position and let you take the reign for your role and compensation (daily commitments help drive this part of the role). There's plenty of on-site perks to make your life easier from the gym to the free coffee and to an on-site massage therapist and doctor."
"I've worked at UWM since 2019. UWM has a positive atmosphere creating a family/teamwork type environment. The company offers great training and the leadership is willing to work with you."
"UWM is a good company. UWM values relationships with each and every client. The company does a decent job of maintaining a healthy work-life balance."
"This company boasts about culture but they still have not figured out how it fits in IT."

Good training, but you gotta be in the cult

It's nearly impossible to actually grow at UWM. It reminds me much of being back in high school with the drama that's constantly surrounding the building, especially in IT of all places. They have no finite growth scale which makes it impossible to grow in your career. They change the ladder so often to attempt to appear agile, while in all honesty it's just to keep people from raising up in their field.
The salary they put you at is severely under the industry average for any other company of the same caliber, and it's hard locked so you're unable to make more than what they're offering.
Training was good at least, albeit all internal so you aren't usually learning things to advance your career, moreso just to make the company more money and advertise false growth.
They'll try to bribe you with amenities and benefits, but they expect you to be in the building 45 hours a week with no WFH opportunity. This is even worse in production since it's either you come in slammed or you're on one another to hit the bare minimum requirements for employment.
The culture is very false positive, smile or you'll be canned for negative attitude(they tried two times with me).
Even though you're on a salary position they want you to clock in and out, if you decide to go outside and try to enjoy said amenities they use to persuade you to join, they'll get on you over a few minutes of break time by making you swipe in and out to exit/enter the facilities.
There's many negatives with UWM that massively outweigh the benefits they have. My advice is join for the free training, get yourself -
No real breaks, toxic false positive culture, no power to the workers, 45 hr mandatory work week, etc.

UWM Employee Reviews

They say "Be you here" as long as you are looking for anxiety, poverty, and non-stop control, you are all set.
Lack of a work from home option shows just how behind the times they are. Every week or so, someone drops off the radar and is sent home for testing positive with Covid-19. The clean up crew comes by and sanitizes their desk, and the person next to them is left to wonder if they contracted it. The little plastic walls they put up during the stay home order did a great job protecting the computer monitors from covid, not so much for the people at the desks.
I would guess that the top 10% of the entire staff are making a living, the rest are in a never ending maze with the other rats trying to keep up with training, tests, zoom meetings, webinars, incoming calls from rude brokers, or replying to what are known in the building as "Client Requests" Oh! those are timed and if you don't reply before the timer goes off, it will be counted against you.
If you are an underwriter there is this terrible policy...
Can't take lunch or a bathroom break unless you have someone cover your phone, god forbid a call goes to voicemail. It is dehumanizing from what I am told.
Seems like if you are in the right clique, you will be ok though. The training is lack luster at best. No matter what they say.
"Never Relax" is another thing they say. Well, that is one thing that they deliver on. Sales people lose accounts at the whim of management too. The "All In" initiative recently rolled out cost most of the people just starting out, a lot of money.
If you like being micro managed -
They hire like crazy (but the turn over is astronomical)
Wages at poverty level unless you are one of the chosen few.

In general, she looked bright, catchy, immediately attracted attention. I was immediately pleasantly surprised that she did not talk to me like a boy, but rather, on the contrary, behaved. Like a naughty girl flirting with a man. Our conversation did not touch upon platitudes like "about the weather and what is in fashion", it was an easy, graceful dive with mutual barbs.
Suddenly she told me about her husband, said that he was an insignificant peasant, whom she had long ago married "on the fly," and now she.United Wholesale Mortgage: This Is What We Do

I could show you my middle finger, send the fuck, it was already in the order of things between us, you would only laugh. So I poked my dick in your face. You fell silent instantly. I dont know what made such an impression on you, but for the first time I saw those veiled eyes and a slightly open mouth. This.
